Good for them. Minimum wage is supposed to be a livable wage and there is no way in hell you can live off that in the bay area.
Thats ridiculous, there are staff accountants that make less than that. And yes honestly I am upset that a low skill job would get that much.
Lol America sucks so much.
In my area an entry level IT job only makes 11-12/hr. People who actually have a college education.
Thats what the Dems are telling you which is a lie since thats their base. Minimum wage is entry level meant for HS kids and college students and is not meant to be a living wage.
You've been fed a load of bull.
Kenya?
Kenya?
Ugh no, your state Capitol
You forgot to include the independent restaurants & bars and privately held multiple restaurants & bars since most of them pay their employees minimum wage or lower. You're completely wrong.
The minimum wage was introduced to prevent the manipulation of employees by owners of capital.
Your minimum wage is so low that it costs the rest of society extra just to help these employees live somewhat better than in poverty. That's manipulation. Pass the blame onto the corporations, not the ground level workers who are just there to do their job.
Why are you defending these megacorps, when it is costing YOU money?

Only about 4.3% of the workforce is at this wage and 56% of those workers are age 16-24. data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.
