Lara is awesome.

Still say he gives Floy the most competitive fight.

"Lara is awesome." There's an overstatement.
Lara couldn't beat Carlos Molina. He couldn't beat Canelo. He's not doing shit to Floyd.

120-108 Floyd.

Not saying Lara would win but I agree about a Lara - Floyd match up. Stylewise, It'd make for a boring fight but also a competitive one.

Floyd is too accurate and too slick. Lara needs a guy like Paul Williams or Delvin Rodriguez in front of him. Hell, Ishe Smith was competitive with the guy. He got dropped hard by Alfredo Angulo, who got outboxed by Kermit fucking Cintron. One of his best showings was fighting reasonably even with a guy Floyd schooled.

Lara is the most overrated fighter in the sport IMO. Take a second and actually consider what the guy has accomplished as a pro. Jack shit. Floyd is a complete boxer, Lara is a runner. Easy work for Mayweather. I wouldn't even favor Lara over Cotto.

Lara is not on Floyds level.

It has more to do with the style than what Lara has actually accomplished. What will work best against Floyd is a "runner". And Lara is a skilled so called runner.
Imo.

You'll never convince me that a guy who couldn't win 7 rounds against Carlos Molina is beating Floyd. Lara will never win a fight against a true elite level fighter, mark my words. He never has and never will. He is simply not a 12 round fighter.

I haven't read the entire thread, but I still think Helenius has the size and reach to bother Mayweather and Lara. It's a matter of style and a 100 pound weight advantage.

He beat Angulo. What else does the man need to prove?

Well, good luck telling someone their opinion is wrong. I love watching Lara fight.

Lara arguably did beat Canelo. Lara did do better than Cotto. Lara should have a win over Paul Williams. So sure you can look at those and say he cant beat elite fighters, or you can look at the context of the fights and say an argument can be made that he already has.

Lastly, who you have or have not beaten doesnt decide who you can beat. Name a worse style matchup for Floyd than Lara (realistic weights, and current fighters only of course).

Did not address what he said at all. And that is s very obvious stylistic puzzle for Floyd to solve.

Floyd going to chase Lara around the ring and look to batter him?

I think Canelo would be a hard fight for Mayweather now.
Mayweather is slowing down and Canelo has gotten better since their fight a few years ago.

And just to clarify Im not saying Lara would beat Floy. Just that hed give him the hardest fight.

Lara is a terrible TV fighter. I favor the boxer of the brawler myself, but I'm not terribly excited when I hear Lara is fighting.

Yes, he might possibly have done enough for people to argue that he could have won the Canelo fight, a guy Floyd schooled. Wow.

I see no need. I don't agree he's a bad matchup. He doesn't have the offensive output, he doesn't mix it up enough. Floyd would just outpoint him over 12. I doubt he'd lose a round. It does matter who he beats too. If he can't beat b list guys at 154 he's not beating the best p4p fighter of the past 30 years.

What a shit argument lol. Offensive output is not going to trouble Floyd. Guess youve missed his entire career.

Styles are more important than resumes.

Floyd has the versatility. We've seen he can beat a guy who tried to box him. I haven't seen Lara beat anyone significant. Floyds use of distance and timing is more than enough to beat a guy like that. Floyd's fought speed, he's fought offense, he's fought brawlers , he's fought technically sound fighters and beat them all.

Easy work for Mayweather. Whats Lara going to do? Throw 6 punches per round for 4 rounds then make a shocked face when the judges announce a wide decision for Floyd? Honestly, Maidana is a worse fight for Floyd than Lara.

I'd give Tim Bradley a better shot at beating Floyd than Lara, without question.

You haven't made an argument at all. Keep your shits to yourself.

I think Lara fucked your chick or something.

Offensive output is the key to Floyd. Imagine that. Its a shame that Pac, Mosely, Canelo, DLH, Cotto etc etc etc didnt have you in their corner.
