I used to be a huge fan of boxing and would disagree with the " deep talent pool" part of your statement.
It is actually very shallow at this time in terms of marketable "top level" talent.
That's the main reason Floyd makes so much money, he's all that's out there in the boxing world as far as a megastar.

pretty sure the talent at 147 in men's boxing worldwide is WAY deeper than the 135 division in WMMA. im not referring to the ability to make money...im talking about actual athletic talent in the respective sport divisions.

Floyd's division in boxing has 1147 professionally ranked fighters globally. It has double the number of amateurs. Consider some of his biggest opponents come from a weight class less than 10 lb.'s heavier with another 1000+ professionally ranked fighters.

Ronda has 30 ranked opponents globally. 30. Essentially the bulk of these 30 women are the only women really competing in WMMA. There are hardly an amateurs at all. That's telling.

There are 2 huge reasons why he makes so much money. 1. he brings in huge ppv numbers. 2. and most importantly, he doesn't have to pay a promoter. his company promotes or co promotes the fights. So he pretty much gets all the money from ppv sales.
