Just saw on twitter early reports of the ppv buys are between 800-900k for Maidana vs Mayweather.

Ya know I don't troll. I'm on my iPhone right now so when I get home I'll post links.

However if these reports are true here are Floyd last 3 ppvs:

870k for Ghost verified by forbes
    2.2 million Canelo by ringtv
900k for Maidana - early reports

*edit* Home now and able to post the links:

I think this means they both need each other for that super fight. That 3 million mark. The media and fans have cooled off on both guys.

Back in 2009-10-11-12 ppl would buy their fights hoping it would lead to each other.

No PPV will ever reach 3 million.

    Fortunately for Showtime Canelo exists.

Without that fight they're losing pretty bad on this deal, right?

I think most people thought it would be an uncompetitive one sided fight with maidana. I bet the rematch sells big

Showtime is getting more out of Mayweather then PPV money. Even if they don't make any money. All the free Showtime marketing.

Why do you think they had a free weekend when his fight replays?

I'll wait to see what Showtime says. Guerrero was said to be closer to a million when it was all said and done and I think this will too.

A rematch would fetch 1.4m IMO.

Floyd was an investment and a wise one.

Everyone here knows I am an HBO boxing fan. I like it more than showtime but showtime has been kicking hbos ass all over the block. Less subscribers but pound for pound their boxing fan base has grown tenfold in the recent years. Add in their success through social media and YouTube.

It use to be HBO and everyone else, now it's a legit two horse race. Ken Hershman who left showtime and came to HBOsports has to be on the hot seat.

Yep. Until this past year or so, Showtime was always considered quality but lesser compared to HBO.

Now they consistently put on better cards than HBO.

I don't disagree, Floyd is the bigger draw however PAC does deserve a ppv percentage and share in the promotion. I would argue 40% if I were him.

I know. Just stating the facts as well.

Floyd is the bigger draw now. PAC's star has faded a bit from the Marquez KO but still he is the undisputed 1b to Floyd's 1A.

3 mil is the ceiling but I still believe it breaks Oscar and Floyd's 2.6.

If you think about it, Canelo and Floyd did 2.2 million Canelo's first ppv show ever. He had a big mexican fan base but wasn't a mainstream name or fighter at all.

Pac and Floyd both bring close to 1 mil each, add in the main stream fans as well.

I don't think Pac vs Floyd beats Canelo. Maybe I'm reaching with that statement, but I just don't.

Actually I'm probably reaching. 2.5 maybe?
