Mayweather and McGregor should do a Boxing and MMA fight

Let's get real here. I don't expect Mayweather-Mcgregor to ever happen. Dana White simply will not allow it because he doesn't want his superstars to be humiliated...in Boxing. Now if Mayweather were to fight in the UFC under MMA rules that would be a different story. In fact years ago Floyd Mayweather was talking trash about MMA saying he could knock out Mixed Martial Artists under their own rules. Dana White offered him a fight with Sean Sherk and a big purse to step up. Mayweather didn't accept it.

If this fight were to ever happen the only way I see Dana White doing this is if there was a contract signed where Mayweather fought McGregor in MMA and win or lose they would fight again in Boxing. This would be a huge fight. Of course Mayweather would have to do MMA first because Dana would not want to run the risk of McGregor being beaten in Boxing and then Mayweather backing out of the deal. I think if they agreed to fight in both sports and fought in MMA first Dana White would agree to it then we could settle these MMA vs. Boxing debates once and for all. But I do not believe for a second that Mayweather would ever risk his reputation by fighting in the UFC.

Yep and Hari never did the mma fight, but then got his revenge and knocked out overeem a while later in K-1

Yes and this is what I was thinking. Of course it is well known that after Alistair Overeem knocked out Badr Hari under K-1 rules there was no MMA fight because Hari admitted that he only agreed to it as bait. That is why I think they should do MMA first. That way Dana White doesn't have to worry about Mayweather only doing Boxing and backing out of an MMA fight. I think my idea is good but realistically Mayweather would never do this.

I dont remember Floyd bashing MMA and saying he could beat them at their own game. Sounds like Mayweather Sr or Roger Mayweather. Floyd has actually been somewhat a fan of MMA and wants to promote it himself. His son also has childhood dreams of doing MMA so pops is all supportive of it. He's said it multiple times that he wants his son to be a champ in MMA ect.

Floyd's opinion of MMA has evolved. Years ago he did say that Boxers were superior fighters and he could beat Mixed Martial Artists under their own rules by knocking them out before they took it to the ground. Then Dana offered a fight with Sean Sherk. Mayweather apologized and said he respects the athletes in MMA. Later he started saying that Boxers were simply better athletes and Boxing has more talent which is why they make more money. You are correct that he is starting to sponsor MMA fighters and his son wants to be an MMA fighter but he did say years ago that he could beat a UFC champion in their own sport.

Mayweather handpicked opponents in the sport he's the king of. Why the hell would he do a completely different sport with someone who wouldn't even crack the top 25 in boxing?

Mayweather got to be where he is by being extremely smart contrary to what most people want to think.

He goes no where near a mma fight except to watch one.
