Rewatch Mayhem vs Bisping rewatch - mayhem was a d@mn good fighter

Bro, he absolutely sucked against Bisbing. Granted this was my recollection at the time, but after so much talk, he absolutely gassed and his best moment was stalling against the fence. I'm a mayhem fan but that was super embarrassing at the time.

Jason Miller was a really solid fighter, and he had an underrated chin. For how crazy he is in real life he had a decent fight IQ



It was actually Todd Moore. Mayhem would've crushed Aoki though just by size difference and comparable skills

It was David Gardner, not Todd Moore.

Mayhem had great BJJ. Unfortunately not so great takedowns.

For his time he was pretty alright there. Jake shields is hell to wrestle with pre knee injury

Bisping just stared him down when he got into the cage before the introductions with that little smirk on his face like

“I’m about to kick your ass lol”

"I'll show you a bully beatdown buddeh."

He was a dealing with substance abuse and drinking all the time while fighting. I always liked his fighting style and thought he could've been champ had he had the discipline, which would've helped with his cardio. Another "what could've been"

Was it really "the entire time" though? I'm thinking he was getting into that stuff by the time he fought Bisping, but not necessarily earlier when he went 1-1 with Tim Kennedy in 2 fights, beat Lawler, went the distance with Shields and Jacare and beat quite a few others (some were older/undersized Japanese fighters and unknowns.

His first run in with the law was late 2005 (assault and burglary involving his ex and her boyfriend) but he was acquitted, so who knows how legit that was. The next time was 2011 (year he fought Bisping) and it went downhill after that. He also went the distance with a young GSP in 2005, but was dominated from what I remember.

The thing is... your biggest props for Miller all come from his losses. 'A damn good fighter' is a bit of stretch but he was definitely solid enough for several years.

Yeah, and I didn't care for his win over Sakuraba, who was years past his prime and heavily damaged. It was almost a pre-Jake Paul vs. Tyson fight, though not nearly as big of an age gap. But the same "he's a legend and my hero so I want to beat him up when he's old" thing. That makes no sense to me.
