Maycee Barber 'Begged' Coaches Not to Call Doctors at UFC Vegas 107

Didn't they say on live broadcast that Barber has already started her walkout and then just turned around and went back to her locker room?
They did, but we're all supposed to pretend we never heard that, because in the 2020s the information our own senses send to our brains isn't really real, dontcha know.

Kowboy On Sherdog, I say this because I like you. I can't believe that you believe any of this. You're better than that. I'll just chalk it up to being human and mistakes being part of the package that comes with it.

Did they ever disclose the reason for Barber’s withdrawal from UFC 269?
Not to my knowledge. UFC and Maycee's crew really expect us to shut up and believe what we're told. In 2025. Right when people worldwide have finally had enough of that mindset. <lol>

What I love is that apparently Maycee's got such superhuman will that--during a seizure mind you--she still somehow, some way, was able to muster up the ability and desire to beg people NOT to call off the fight. Somebody give this woman ten medals for courage and bravery ASAP!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

It’s not really about him becoming champ again. …I’ll just be happy if Merab isn’t

My point is fighters like Maycee pretty clearly aren't considering the impact of severe weight cuts on their health, and that's not going to change if you make them weigh in the same day as the fight.
I think they would have no choice but to start seriously considering it.

With a day to rehydrate, fighters believe they can put the 20ish back on and be back to 100%. Nobody would believe this if you only had a few hours. There would be a handful risk it but I don't they would see enough success for others to think its a good ides. They cut to get the advantage. If they can't rehydrate and get the advantage, why would they keep cutting?

I don’t understand, mentally weak, how?

She’s a fighter. She takes shots to the shin for a living. Most humans aren’t mentally tough enough to get in front of a bunch of people in an arena and get their ass beat, but she does it for a living.

She might be “damaged”, she might not be Valentina, she might have fucked up weight cutting, and she might just flat out suck lol but to call any fighter mentally weak is….

I don’t know, you consider yourself mentally strong? Lolll
I think it's just when I see her interviewed, BTS etc, i see someone that has endured life changing psychological trauma and has perhaps more emotional lability than your average person. It does comes across that way in my humble opinion. Doesn't mean shit, if its channeled the right way, but if you're not making weight and you're pulling out of fights minutes before the walkout then clearly something is not right. No smoke without fire.

All said and done it makes her look vulnerable /weak.

Sorry, basically skipped to the end... but for someone that doesn't remember anything, and was in such rough shape, she sure made sure to get a lot of "candid" and not so candid hospital pictures. Almost like a photo shoot.

If anything this is just ANOTHER case example of why UFC should put on less but stacked events. If the UFC did 2 per month ( 1 PPV and 1 ESPN card) everything would be just fine.
Extremely shit take

In all seriousness, being pressured and browbeaten into NOT doing those two things* ever again by society has led to...more angry, miserable and utterly directionless women than ever before. I can't imagine why...

*Being loving wives to all males obviously, not just fighters.
Its actually the complete opposite. But you keep listening to the liberal globalist agendA

Im a fan of MMA. I want more fights. Crazy idea isn't it?

Nothing stopping you from more MMA. You just need to do some digging. ONE, PFL, Brave, Rizin, Cage Warriors, etc.. What you meant to say is it is not a shit take but you just don't value quality as much. You're okay if you get shit as long as you get it. You just want to watch fights no matter how crappy the fights are and value quantity over quality.
