My wife, who is an Albuquerque criminal defense attorney, mentioned that maximum sentence for a hit and run, and possession of drug paraphernalia is a 3 year maximum sentence. It is largely a circumstantial case, he might beat it at trial, or get a friend to take the fall. The real question is, was the cash covered in cocaine dust?

If your wife is really a 'criminal defense attorney' or a half decent one= she'd know that those laws don't apply to celebrities and that money talks.

Being a New Mexican that deals with the local justice system I'm going to say that he doesn't do anytime at all. NM is super lax on auto related crimes. His bail was only $2500. Who does time on a $2500 cash only bond? Maybe like a couple weeks in the holding tank at county.

The bond was 2,500, obviously it isnt a serious offense. Probably probation and needs to take a couple of classes/rehab things to annoy someone into not doing dumb shit again.
