It also proves that having a weight class every 10 pounds is also unnecessary.

145 n 155 could be merged to make 150 n that class would be extremely competitive

All big lw would move to ww making that weight class even more competitive

So all the 165 talk needs to stop n instead ufc should look to get rid of some divisions or merge them

It is necessary. The UFC just doesn't want to pay another fighter more money than interim title points.

All Max vs Dustin proved is those guys deserve more money and more of our respect; Dustin is a bad ass, let Gaethje and Max tell you; MMA is hard and winning belts in two divisions, fighting killers every fight isn't a walk in the park, which is why it's a huge accomplishment...

And a lot of you are stupid.

? It hurt me to read that...

165 has been proposed because there is a 15 pound gap between 155 and 170 and there are guys that are huge at 155 and small at 170 that might fit better.

And the fight with Max and Dustin had no relevance of any kind to a 165 weight class. Dustin is a huge LW and Max clearly had no intention of staying at 155 because he had no power in his shots.

Max didnt lose because poirier was bigger he lost because poirier was the better man that night plain and simple. They should make 165 a division but they probly wont they dont wana spread the talent too thin

No it can’t be merged
Many top 155ers can’t msk 150
Only McGregor could make 150(safely)out of the top lightweights
Leave it how it is

Max overwhelms opponents with volume, so your point there is irrelevant.

Also if Dustin is too big for 155 he can go to 170

Max on the other hand could fight at 150 weight class if 145 n 155 were to merge.

Then they should move to 170.

It’s only 5 pounds away from 165

You’re proving my point

Weight classes are there so fighters of different size don’t fight each other n size doesn’t play huge part in determining the winner

These 2 should be in same weight class

Not sure why you felt the need to make this assertion. Many observers thought Poirier had an advantage in strength and power. I don’t know why it’s bothersome to acknowledge this. When Jon Jones fights he has an advantage in height and reach. When Colby Covington fights he has an advantage in cardio. When Holloway fights at 145 he typically has an advantage in both. All fighters have strengths and weaknesses.
