Via Brett Okamoto on Twitter. Really feel like Volkanovski is getting snubbed here. Another undeserved title shot for Frankie.

Also, don’t come at me with the “they were previously scheduled and he didn’t have to take the Oretega fight”. No he did not. He made that decision for himself and got KOed. There are more deserving guys now.

More reason for fighters to align themselves with Ali Abdelaziz, moral standing be damned. His fighters get the big fights, regardless of how deserving they are. Really sucks for Volkanovski.

    Oh hell yea

But damn, Volkanovski did that work for nothing lol.

Volk just ended the old generation of featherweights (Aldo and Mendes), yet he's getting fucked over. Edgar is an easier fight for Holloway imo

You gotta be fucking kidding me....my favourite fighter of all time in a title fight in my back yard.....and I'll be in fucking Scotland

EDIT: Frankie is my boy, by the way. Got to see him fight (and win) at 205 while his opponent's wife and child wailed in lamentation right behind me. But this might be the only/last chance I have to see him fight for a title. But he can do it...War Frankie.

    Haha, Volk will be pissed..

Happy for Frankie tho, guess having Ali as your manager has its benefits.

I mean, good for Frankie I guess. He was supposed to have had this fight already but ended up fighting Ortega instead.

I'm gonna get some shit for this, but come the FUCK on.

Volkanovski put in the work and has been active, why is he getting overlooked here?

Frankie put his shot on the line when he didn't have to, yes, but he could have taken another fight and cemented another claim to a title shot.(Whoops, he fought Swanson....my bad lol)

Not a fan if true. Volkanovski is getting the RAW Dick here.

Frankie gets to sit on a title shot coming off a loss, but Tony has to fight 2 more times just to get a shot at getting a title eliminator. FUCKING. BULLSHIT!

Edit: Edgar beat Swanson, but still.

Max should win if he can keep it standing. Poirier loss was his 1st loss in a while though, hard to say what mental impact it had.

They would have offered it to Volk but he said no to short notice, don’t worry it’s not a massive delay he will get a shot before the end of the year

Volkanovskis next I presume. At least he doesn't have to wait long, he could potentially face the winner by the end of the year hopefully.

Volkanovski is the clear number 1 threat to the belt right now.

Shane Burgos can get the next TS after Frankie if getting a decision against old man Swanson gets you one

I really hope the UFC gets more backlash from treating their young and rising stars like absolute shit. What a disgrace.

If this is true that he turned it down, I'll be less upset, if he's straight up getting passed over, fuck that noise.

But seeing how Max plans on fighting at UFC 240, and Volkanovski just fought, I could see him wanting to rest.
