We were nearly getting into a position where Islam might have to actually defend his belt against someone on more than a 1-fight win streak in his weight class.

If beating a nobody like BSD can get you a shot one fight removed from getting brutally knocked out, then beating a former Bantamweight for a shot at 155 gold just makes perfect sense.

But you cant compare Ilia wanting to fight for a second belt before he even had one defense to Max who has previously had multiple defenses AND has a win over a top 5 LW.

Good fight. Wish Max wasn't killing himself for FW again. I think he's compromised there for sure. He looked completely filled out at LW against Gaethje compared to the fat Max that fought Porier.

This might’ve been a big mistake for Max if this fight doesn’t go his way. I know he wants that 145 strap back but that cut looks rougher and rougher for Him every year.

I think he could’ve stayed at 155 and angled for a title shot especially coming off that brutal highlight reel. But we shall see what the fight goes have in store for us.

What a bunch of mongs thought has no relevancy to the fact that BSD was ranked outside the top 10/just inside the top 10 (I can't remember but now he is 12). And his best win was over either Matt Frevola or Thiago Moises. i.e he was never a serious contender.

And he was subsequently exposed as not being a legit contender.

The only comical thing is trying to justify a win over BSD as a 1-fight win streak worthy of a title shot after just getting KOd.
