  • Says he got a freak injury in regards to pulling out the first time, typical MMA stuff, and he’s fine.
  • Says he didn’t want to wait until New Year or be a Diva in regards to taking the fight, and the UFC told him he could wait out for Volkanonvski.

  • Says he wanted to be more active, hence taking the fight in July, but these times are difficult and he’s grateful to be back.

  • Watched only Highlights of Alex vs Ortega, says he thought Alex would pick him apart, he did well....With that said, he didn’t get dropped or wrapped up by Ortega(Shade lol)

  • In all seriousness he said Volkanovski overcame adversity, and it was good for him. Says “It’s what Champions are made of”

  • In regards to a Trilogy with Volkanovski, he says he has 5 Title Defenses and he would like 6, but there are “Bigger fights” that the UFC have discussed with him.

  • Says Conor wants Dustin, or Nate, but Max names pops up, he’s always on the short list.

  • Expects “Fireworks” from Yair, and that he always brings the fight. 2 years is a long time, but he could be working on a lot.

  • Not too familiar with AJ McKee(Shocker there)

  • Dana will make a decision after the Yair fight regarding Henry Cejudo and a possible comeback, not for him to worry about.(Interdesting)

  • “We live in wild times” He’s said this a few times in this Interview in regards to what could be next after Yair.

  • Says 268 is a hard act to follow, but he’s grateful, and fans will tune in. “Blessed Express is gonna be on the move”

  • Says he would like open scoring, but he understands the other side of the argument. “Die on your sword, not your Shield”

  • Says Daniel Cormier is the only fighter he REALLY goes out of his way to watch because he wants to fight him(Lol)

  • Ariel takes the time to make it about him and DC’s Beef saying DC ghosted him in NYC when he was there.

  • Wants the finish, but whenever Yair is ready to give up, he’ll help him out the door.

Nice to hear from Max after what feels like AGES after his spectacular performance over Calvin Kattar. He’s being relatively tight-lipped about what’s next for him after this Saturday. The general consensus is that he’s gonna destroy Yair, and while he wants to fight Volkanovski, he seems a LOT more open to entertaining other ideas and fights.

I can’t really say I blame him either, he’s already done enough to cement him as one of the best 145’ers(Fook YOU @Zebra Cheeks lol), and I can see how a 3rd fight with Alex doesn’t get him fired up, it’s a tough match up in which he’s lost twice already. Going down 3 times to the same guy could REALLY do damage to him at 145 both in terms of standing AND legacy, so I could see why he’s not quick to jump back in there, besides he’s kind of hinted that he’s happy the Division is growing in contenders as it helps 145 as a whole, so maybe he’s content with waiting to see if another Champion emerges haha.

As always, will upload the Video when MMA Fighting does. The best is Blessed.

He got outboxed by Dustin, so he can't really make the claim about being the best boxer in UFC. He is one of the high level mma boxers though that's on a short list. Probably second best behind Dustin currently. Dustin's punching power will always give his boxing style problems in the pocket. Plus both are combination punchers so Max can't just use volume to try and win the exchanges. Also both are shifters in their combinations.

He was woefully undersized against Poirer.

I don't see Poirer fairing very well against top 3 welterweights and that is what Max did with virtually no preparation to move up.

You have to compare him to his peers for it to make any sense.

Careful, you’ll get called out for making reasonable statements like me. <{Heymansnicker}>

You watch your filthy MOWT Zebra lol
<{outtahere}>

Max Holloway WILL go down as one of the greatest to ever do it if he can put together a run similar to when he first captured UFC Gold. He's doesn't have to go on another double digit winning streak, nor do I think he will, but with some more Wins and becoming a 2x which is VERY possible, who are we to say he isn't. The dude's already a ballot HoF'er when it's all said and done with the records he's set. At the age of 29 it'd be crazy to think he can't accomplish more especially with the Improvements he made from the Volkanovski fight.

<DisgustingHHH>

Enough of your Haterade lol.

I’m not going to hide anything, I’m a big Holloway fan. He is already the 2nd greatest FW behind aldo no doubt. As far as legendary status dana eluded in an interview like a year ago Holloway will be in the ufc hof.
