Max Holloway Appreciation Thread

In the wake of all of this negativity... let’s all take a moment to thank Max Holloway for being one of the ballsiest guys in mma history.

This is a bad situation but it could have been MUCH worse if the fight was cancelled altogether. Win or lose, Max should be respected by everyone for stepping up a weight class on 6 days notice to fight an undefeated fighter. Cheers to Max!!

I respect him for doing it but make no mistake, other than a loss on his record and potential mauling, he's not losing anything by taking this fight. It's an epic win/win.

- Makes at least 1 million dollars for filling in
- Instant title shot
- If he wins, he's a 2 division champion and gets a Conor rematch when means millions more dollars
- Gets to talk epic trash to Conor for taking a short notice fight that Conor didn't want

All of this is true but still... we’ve seen many fighters in the exact same position turn it down so Max deserves credit. Demetrius Johnson won’t go up in weight with a full camp to protect his precious “record” that no one cares about and full camp Jones refused to fight no camp Chael so yes... this is a big deal for Max

I dont remember anyone praising conor for moving up to fight rda. They all just said he doesnt deserve it.

He didn’t do it on short notice. Since it was booked and not a backup plan, people (not myself) felt he hadn’t “earned” it which is laughable in the state of modern mma. Anyways, why would anything negative said towards Conor surprise you? 50% of sherdog delusionally worships him and the other 50% is obsessed with saying salty, jealous comments about him. Is normal.

That being said, this is not a thread to discuss Conor... this is all about MAX!!!

Holloway should be a LW to begin with, he cuts a lot of weight. I have some faith in him but he hasn’t had a full camp. I hope he becomes a Champ Champ. Khabib is a mauling grizzly bear though.
