He has the interim belt. That means the next title fight at 145 is going to be Aldo/Max unless they both retire and or move weightclasses for no good reason. Max fucked up and he's probably not that good at math. He didn't realize 208 was only 7 weeks after he just fought. They can fight in March if Aldo doesn't duck. Get over it Waldo fans. Max is going to curb stomp your boy.

Oh and that's all besides the point of when you consider the question "why exactly would the #1 contender want to duck the champ???!"
 
Why would anyone duck the champion? He stupidly called Aldo out too soon and wants some time to heal and prepare.

If he doesn't give a fuck about max why is he trying to pressure him into fight 7 weeks after he just fought when it's just as easy to move it back 4 or 5 weeks so Max can actually have a fight camp?
 
Holloway vs Aldo was a go for UFC 208 but Max needs more time to heal. Aldo wants to fight now.

Holloway might be fighting Frankie Edgar if Aldo moves up to LW for good. Aldo is expecting his next fight to be at 155 for the interim belt even with Khabib declining the fight with him.

You misread, he's saying Aldo is ducking Max. Aldo who already signed to fight Max.

Well that's the whole point of what everyone here has been asking themselves about Max, especially as it was his choice to ask for the 208 card. Why the fuck would he talk so much shit for so long, ask for a fight with the champ, give a specific card he wanted it on, then refuse all of it when the champ signed on to fight him on the card and date he asked for?
 
Aldo accepted Max's challenge, and signed to fight him on the date Max specifically asked for, and Max backed out...whatever the reasons. Aldo doesn't owe Max anything anymore, and like he recently said - it has been made clear to him that Dana can't force him to fight anyone.

It's been revealed that the UFC told him he would fight Aldo at 208 if he got the interim belt. He probably just said "yeah sure" with out thinking about it and realizing that it would be only 7 weeks after he fights Pettis. Like I said he was dumb about it, but he's CLEARLY the #1 contender and who Aldo needs to fight next and not to mention contractually obligated to fight next.

Dana also doesn't have to let him fight at another weightclass. Max is the ONLY person Aldo is allowed to fight at 145. If he doesn't they will strip him and Max will be the champ.

Aldo is trying to pressure Max by accepting the fight UFC offered him at 208, and that Max called him out for? Max called out Aldo for 208. Aldo's not pressuring Max to do shit. Aldo was just pointing out the stupidity of Max's "where's Aldo???" campaign when Aldo had already accepted the fight, and then Max turns it down. When Aldo accepted 208 he didn't even know who he'd be fighting.

I don't blame Holloway for not committing to it immediately. Really sounds like Aldo has no idea what he wants to do, including what division he should be fighting in.

First of all the only person who said Aldo accepted the fight is Aldo. 2nd he is clearly trying to pressure him into accepting the fight on what is now short notice. There is no other reason for him to announce that Daddy Dana said he could fight at 155. It's not happening he's clearly a negotiating tool to get Ferg to sign for cheap.

It seems everyone can see this, but the salty ass Aldo fans.
