Considering he comes from an athletic base, I think it's pretty mystifying how little his grappling has come along since being in the UFC. Kongo effortlessly beat him up on the ground and Schaub, who couldn't even finish Lavar Johnson, subbed him effortlessly. Let's not forget, Kimbo Slice bodyslammed him in their fight and Joey Beltran was beating him up bad at the end of the first round after a takedown. Where is the improvement in this guy's grappling after all these years? He has a major size advantage over most of his opponents, which should help aid his takedown defense. Schaub, Beltran, Slice, and Kongo were much smaller, but all got him down without much effort.. He needs to be cut and it's likely he'll never improve his TDD or grappling to the point of being worth keeping around.
