I was just wondering if Brown has always been aggresiv in all his fights or did he change it after his last loss?
I think he's had the same kick your ass style his whole career. In the last couple years he has just taken it another level of bad mother fucker.
He has always fought like that. He basically finished Pete Sell three times in under 90 seconds thanks to some questionable refereeing by Yves Lavigne. He's just gotten better at it in recent years.
He's always been that way... he just has improved his striking a great deal since his UFC debut. Well... to be more accurate, Matt Brown has become really pro at ring cutting. Punching with his left, then cutting their circling away with his right leg kick.
This. The guy cuts off the ring better than almost anyone in the UFC along with Pettis and Cain Velasquez. He'll also use right kicks to herd opponents into his left hook, and use his right hand to herd people into his left hook and high kick, etc... Matt Brown fights are always a fine case study of creativity in violence.
Yup. That ref job from Yves was fucking atrocious. Poor Pete, Matt really thrashed him bad. One exception is when he fought Jeremy May on TUF, he spent the first few minutes of the fight dodging/parrying Jeremy's strikes and not throwing anything back at him. This pissed Forrest (his coach) off because he knew how aggressive Matt usually is, so Forrest freaked out and was screaming, "WHERE'S THE ANIMAL MATT? C'MON! SHOW ME THE ANIMAL! MATT, WHAT THE FUCK?!" [YT]2jNXjqeIvDg[/YT] Matt was just fighting smart, as Jeremy gassed hard and Matt KO'd him with a head kick.
Ohhh shit lol I've seen that clip before and found it hilarious, but I didn't know it was during Brown's fight with May. Haha. Awesome. That Jeremy May was a little prick, was glad to see Brown serve him his just desserts after May said he had "little man syndrome" or whatever. Yves made his first mistake when Sell got head kicked then dropped by that 3-2, and he jumped in as if to stop the fight... then sees Pete still awake and just decides the fight's not over like WTF dude?
He murdalized him. And was pissed at Yves. I thought for a split second that he was gonna smack Yves.
If I'm not mistaken he was a brawler but not very technical when he was on TUF. He was funny to watch though.......always pissed off about something. :icon_twis
