Meh, who knows. These fights between guys way past their primes usually come down to whose chin is worse and who has declined more. While Brown had a nice run at one point, Condit was better in their respective primes. That said, Matt Brown is the only WW who has wins over Lima and Wonderboy, LOL. But if an old Cerrone who belonged at LW was able to KO Brown, there are no guarantees of him dominating Condit or anyone else. I pick Brown based on their performances over the last few years, but these kind of fights are very unpredictable.
It depends who is the least shot. I love both guys but they are both slower and much more fragile than they used to be. I think Carlos will likely fight conservatively like he did vs. Mcgee and win a decision, or Matt will walk through enough of it to KO Carlos. Then again, wouldnt surprise me if Matt tries to do that and walks into an elbow or knee and gets finished too. It is still an interesting fight even today but would have been an all time classic four years ago or so.
50/50 fight as Matt is 40 and Condit has been done but I'm always rooting for Matt Brown no matter what so I hope he gets the win.
I could see Matt landing a big shot, wrestkefucking Condit, Condit by decision fighting luke he did vs Diaz or Condit with a body kick.
I was actually taking about this specific fight with @MrJPayne on Sunday while watching the Bears pretend to play against the saints. You got a guy that's on a bad skid (even if you just pulled off a win in his last fight) vs a guy coming out of retirement that probably should stay retired. We decided to stay away from this fight betting wise.
I have condit taking this one. Both guys aren't what they used to be, but condit still seems a bit more durable than brown these days. You can hurt brown bad both to the body and head. Guy without his shirt on was definitely a weekend brawler in his youth.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Matt takes Condit down a few times and wins 2/3 rounds as a result.
Yeah, but the other guy had no head movement, was flat-footed, and had zero takedown defense. It's easy to look good against a guy like that with no training camp.
Oh I didn't mean that because buddy looked good. You just know anyone who prioritizes getting the shirt off before scuffling is prone to scrapping.
Give him a few months with Henri Hooft or Parillo and he should be ready to make a run at the HW title.
It's not like he's done that successfully much since he fought Nick 10 years ago, though. He mostly just gets finished these days.
