Gastelum fights in 4 weeks. He is expected to win against an opponent with little UFC experience. If he does win, how do you like Brown v. Gastelum?

Nick Diaz has already shot down Dana White's stupid idea of Diaz fighting Brown. Lombard ducked Brown to fight Kim. Nobody is calling out Brown, except Nate Diaz, but White stupidly refuses to let the only person to call out Brown fight him.

Gastelum doesn't have ranking as high as Brown, but Brown's ranking is padded. (He's now ranked higher than Lombard despite lower-quality wins.)

Gastelum is still unbeaten and demonstrated technical skills as good or better than Brown's. Gastelum is man enough not to duck Brown if offered this fight.

Why rush Kelvin Gastelum when he already had all he can handle in Rick Story?

Matt Brown gains nothing from fighting Gastellum.

Brown needs a top 10 opponent already.

Brown needs a top 10 opponent, and besides Kelvin isn't ready for Brown imo. I'd like to see Gastelum against Mike Pyle after Musoke.

Love the sig. One super fight comes around every decade. I imagine the investment of tens of million of your own cash [Which you reportedly win at casinos] would take the sport to another level.

Did he really do everything he could for Anderson v GSP?? Doubt it. Bones v Anderson.. Nup. Surely it's time for a super fight.

Lets come back to this discussion after Lawler vs. Ellenberger. Brown could face the winner, especially if it's Ellenberger.

Doesn't make sense at the moment. Brown needs to fight someone in the top five.

It would be a good fight but it doesn't make sense ranking wise.

Brown is trying to move up, Im pretty sure hes looking to get a title shot after one more fight and this fight wont do it.

Brown is title shot or huge pay day right now. I like Kelvin but...no.

Matt Brown has won 7 straight UFC fights....... (he has to get a #1 contender fight, no questions asked).

Fighting Kelvin would mean Matt would have to win 9 maybe 10 straight fights for a title shot..... (yeah that's a great freaking plan :icon_neut )

No. Brown gets nothing from fighting Gastelum or Nate Diaz. And Nick Diaz is stupid, how? Diaz probably doesn't really even deserve that fight, in the first place, he's on a two fight skid, didn't win one round against the now retired champion, and hasn't fought in over a year. People need to quit acting like that guy is a top tier level fighter in the sport, he's a borderline top 5 in his weight class at best. And his supposed big selling point is he's a big draw when he really isn't.

I like the fight.. but the matchup serves nothing for Brown at this point.. he has collected wins against progressively better talent on his 7 fight run... but it is time for him to step up with a top 5 opponent... Obviously the top five all have dance partners / or injured right now... but Brown needs to beat the likes of Lawler, MacDonald, Ellenberger, Condit or Woodley... throw in Lombard, Safferdine or Maia into the mix... Lets see what Matt has to offer against the top tier... he has proven a lot of people wrong, but now is the time for him to make his jump into the elite of the division...
