Talent pool isn't deep enough to start permabanning people.

Pound for pound most annoying fighters when running their gab: Roy Nelson, Luke Rockhold, and Matt Brown

Dont forget Hendricks

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I don't understand him taking a stand on Silva here.

I get Silva lied about it (The Thai viagra bit.....Thaiagra?) because i think if he outright said he took roids to expedite the healing on his leg, he would have effectively closed the door on any sort of leniency, so guys sort of have to feign ignorance.

But really? Dude broke his leg in half. To me it seems pretty fucking obvious why he took them, did he cheat? Yes. Should he be punished? Yes.

Should he be punished worse than everyone else? No.
The full purse amount? maybe, but 200 grand is hefty regardless.

I do also agree with one of the previous posts where the talent pool in MMA is nowhere near deep enough to start banning guys for life.

There was that Rumble thread earlier where he talked about he didn't care if guys use, and that got me thinking that given the torturous nature of MMA, what if fighters were allowed to take certain banned substances under the supervision of commission doctors to ensure safer training practices.
I know it sounds ridiculous but they're fighting in a cage for christ's sake, it's not exactly the pinnacle of ethics.

I hate to be *that* guy but American fighters love dishing it out when non-Americans get caught. There was practically no outrage from anyone when Sonnen was outed as possibly the biggest cheat in the sport.

Matt "Resting Bitch Face" Brown. Possibly the most overrated WW in the UFC

Probably the smartest post on the whole situation I've seen and not once did I see the words 'legacy ruined'.

PED users are not ban by promotions in most cases, they are banned by athletic commissions, most of which respect and uphold each others ruling.

If Anderson Silva was banned for life, which is usually not intended a an actual lifetime ban but more as a "come to the table" ban, where they can impose limitations on your fighting license status. He would be ban from all professional sanctioned matches, meaning, most promotions.

I guess he could go to like, ONE fc or some shit, but Bellator, cage rage, WSOF, Jungle fights.... those would be off the table

But that's not what Brown is asking for. He specifically said the UFC should ban him from the promotion for life.

He would be perfectly good going over to Bellator or WSOF.

Which is precisely why the UFC wouldn't do that.

It's a shame that something that can potentially allow fighters to train with not intensity and recover faster, perhaps leading to more frequent fights and more efficient camps, is against the rules.

To be fair, Anderson said cheaters should be banned for life as well.

Maybe he should. But he wont so none of this matters.
Matt isn't just all wrong though. Actually his statements make more sense now than they made few years ago.

lol Matt Brown, I'm not accusing him but his skull and body changed so much over last few years.

I don't see anything. I think current Condit and Diaz at 185 were way more suspect than him. Of course I dont see either of them as cheaters though.

Hasn't Anderson Silva said similar things on many occasions in the past?

Matt who? Fuck you retard! Throwing stones on a mountain...

Brown normally just has diarrhea of the mouth but if I was a clean fighter making what Brown makes and saw Silva still walk away with almost half a million for a fight he was on Steroids for and get what basically amounts to a 4 months suspension from when he was going to fight again anyway I would be pissed too.
