CM Punk should have had a fight already. I didn't mind this whole thing at first but now it's starting to look like a weak sketch to get some viewers. I have a feeling that only one fighter is going to benefit from this deal and thats Mikey Gall.

Although Brock had his NCAA wrestling background; Punk actually took some brutal hits during his pro wrestling career. The guy started doing hardcore wrestling as a teen and that involved some stupid shit and many bumps to the head. I'm rather confident Punk at least has a better chin than Brock. Let's see how well that works out for him.

Keep dreaming; this was never truly about Brooks being any kind of fighter; this was him wanting to turn his back on PW and hanging with the cool kids in mma to stroke his fragile ego.

Not surprisingly, the fight is delayed time and time again, so he can hang with the cool kids without taking any of the punishment.

This guy deserves no respect.

Lmao you are an absolute idiot. You think he cares about fame? Ya seems to make sense with all the interviews and spotlight time he is getting. The guy does like 1 interview every couple months.

According to his teammates and coaches, he is training his ass off and will only fight when they all feel he is ready to do so. You can stay butthurt all you want. I for one am looking forward to his debut, win or lose. I admire the guy's work ethic and passion for the sport. I've been following Phil's career for many years and I know he is truly a fan of MMA and he isn't in this shit for fame or money, he has plenty of that already and is not in need of a paycheck.

Can I not just be a bit of an idiot, not an absolute one; since you've possibly not read many of my other posts?

Point out where I said he's only doing it for fame, money etc.

If he was not interested in the spotlight, he could've Batista'd this whole thing.

He does alot of pictures with the cool MMA kids, social media stuff, tough guy talk (threatening old man Hogan with an ass whooping).

He wears his insecurities on his sleeve.

I'm not butthurt about anything; I've no dog in this fight; just offering opinion.

one of the top 10 dumbest things ever said on these forums. ask psycho sid how he never got limbs broken. ask stone cold what its like not breaking his neck. ask every single mma fighter who also wrestles which takes a more "real" effect on the body. no it isn't a fight, and it is different for sure, but let's not act like it is simple gymnastics

You have a point but I would say especially after some interviews from Punk and how he presents himself that this stint in the UFC is to "boost his ego" and that he is someone who needs to be the "cool" kid. That´`s not a bad thing per se but he forces that a little bit too much for my taste. If it only were for his dream of being an mma fighter he would have performed first in the regional circuit as you learn better that way without the extra pressure and grow much more as a fighter.

His beef with Pendred was imo utterly stupid were he reacted at the critic how he works the pads by moking Pendred back about actual fights Pendred had and talk about how much money he made. Pendred is after all a top professional mma fighter in the premier fighting org of the world and to then talk about how bad his fighting style is beeing a 0-0 "fighter" is not quite fitting. What did he expect? If someone would get a wild card for the US Open because he is famous without ever having played in a amateur tourney dont you think he would be mocked. It is very disrespectful to all fighters who had to come to this point by gaining the necessary skill through years of hard work.

What I don`t get is his physique if he is "training his ass off". I know fighters mostly amateur level and literally no one looks that unimposing and soft. Without the tattoos thats a typical desk job body.
Maybe he is fit as a professional. Its just strange how some mma media talks about how he is "huge and ripped (mmamania)" and then you see him training.

You totally misrepresented what he said. Implying he calls him a pussy for backing out with an injury. But the entire first paragraph is him showing sympathy and explaining what a rough injury it is.
