Criticized over social media for the incident, Brown defended himself Sunday via his Facebook page.

"First off thanks to ‪#‎theimmortalarmy‬ for your constant support," said Brown. "Second off I've read some things saying that said I faked the nut shot. I would never do that in my fucking life. That's bullshit. Period. End of story."

To further clarify the situation, McCarthy took to Twitter to insist that neither fighter was at fault.

"For information, the kick thrown by Robbie was legal, his shin moved Brown's cup, you could hear it, that's why Brown was given a moment."

If Big John said he heard it hit the cup I think you've got to give him the benefit of the doubt. He was a lot closer than Joe and Dana, and he has a lot more experience with what goes on in the cage.
