Matched up Fighters should just agree to fight a weightclass above

so you thiink a fighter thats a lready in teh cage with his mouthguard in will just accept that the other is DQ'ed? Do you know how fighters menatlity work?
The commission enforces the rules. The fighters can't do a thing to change that. When they say the fight is over then it's over. There are countless examples of doctors stopping fights that the fighter didn't want stopped. If a fight time weigh-in was implemented and the commission disqualified a fighter for missing weight then the fight is over like it or not.

Add in 65, 75 and 95
Get rid of 170 and do hydration tests like onefc

Goodbye title fights, because fighters won’t be used to cutting the weight and will fuck it up. “I don’t know what happened, the last weight cut went fine 5 years ago”

Or if they do make the weight cut they will be so drained from not being used to it title fights will suck anyway.

How do you know "said" fighter wont do a quick bulk and whoop the smaller fighter.

it was trendy for a bit for 2 fighters to call eachother out for a match at the next higher class
neither wants to cut weight
but they dont wanna fight a guy whos truly a weight class above either

Just eliminate weight cutting all together

Put a scale outside of the cage for them to step on before they enter

Serious question: why isn't this done already ?

What is there to gain from fighters hydrating and rehydrating, other than giving the edge to fighters who are good at cutting weight ?

The result will be two guys fighting at the exact weight. Strict penalties for guys who miss weight (since you shouldn't be cutting anyway).

This happens occasionally. ...fighter A isn't going to make weight and informs fighter B. Fighter A weighs in overweight, Fighter B then takes on some water to come in over as well. The purpose being not to fall foul of commission rules that prevent fights going ahead if the weight difference is too great.

This is what should have happened with the Grasso Gadelha fight last weekend. If Grasso had weighed in first, Gadelha could have taken on some water and the fight could have proceeded.

If one is overweight they are disqualified and the other gets an easy win. It’s called losing on the scale.
imagine a card that have 3 fighters get disqualified because of weight issue one day prior to the event. Then we only get 3 fights in that card.

*rolleyes*

OneFC is doing it right imo. Because being dehydrated should be a health condition to not fight. Testing the hydration of a fighter should be akin to a doctor clearing your health for a fight.

I know size matters. But anderson silva went up fought fine. Gsp went up n beat bisping. Conor moved up. Rumble moved up. I dont think it matters as much as people think. The only reason fighters do it is because they want the tiniest of advantages. And thats what it is., a tiny advantage.
