conor's super entertaining. i think he's overrated, but he's great at garnering attention and he can both sell a fight in the promotional sense and put on a good fight in the literal sense. i have nothing against him at all.

"low class"--i mean he comes from a working class background and then makes it big and spends a lot of effort trying to create the image of a very wealthy athlete with the tailored, oddly tight suits, and the glasses, and coterie of hangers-on. compare that to askren who wears jeans and a t-shirt pretty much everyhwere--he's from a different background and doesn't flaunt his wealth, but downplays it. Diaz bros are from a lower class background but treat fighting not as the road to riches but as a job they kinda hate. especially nick.

all that says, conor's smart in a business sense to do everything he's done and is doing. props to him.

They both have equally good stand up. I might even say Conor is a little bit smarter with his striking. BUT Masvidal has a better chin and more importantly a bigger heart in fights.

Masvidal. Could see the odds being pretty even or Mas being slight underdog and I would back Jorge biiiiiiig.

Funny how Masvidal became a world beater after that flying knee.

No it's not, dumbass. "Much bigger" doesn't come in discussion if you are talking in those terms. Jones is as much a "world beater" as Fedor. And beating Daren Till and Ben Askren hardly put someone in that level.

Yes he is, and I'm not even a Conor fan. Conor is probably the most talented striker in MMA today (if he fought at all).
"More well rounded" works if you plan to take Conor down, which I don't think Masvidal plans to. I see Conor putting on a clinic unless Masvidal manages to overpower him somehow (doubtful).

I picked Masvidal 2 years ago so I’m sure as hell picking him now. Masvidal definitely.

Remember: Conor needed 40 low kicks to majority decision Diaz. How do you suppose he’ll do against a guy who can box, can kick (and check low kicks), can wrestle, and who has some of the best BJJ in the WW division?

I would love to see Conor beat Mas at 170 just for the fan reaction alone.

Against Chiesa. Maia credited Masvidal with having the best BJJ of anyone he’s fought in the UFC. ...But let’s not allow that to supplant the opinions of random Shertards.

PS: I said ‘some of the best’ - look into it

He's a solid brown with good defensive / positional Jiu jitsu. His wrestling is way better than it gets credit for

The idea that he has no skills in those areas are the low hanging fruit that fit the narrative. Dead wrong though.

Only thing I'll agree with is his cardio isn't championship level and he has issues with energy management.

Yeah I've he's a beast on the mats

Contextually, Maia prob meant position / defense wise. He looked pretty hard to crack in that sense

Some people think Jiu jitsu is basically just submissions.. Lol
