A teen made threats against a school and had several guns, ammunition. The police arrested them before they where able to hurt anyone.

Authorities where warned multiple times about the Parkland shooter and did not act which lead to the shooting.

Watching for warning signs can prevent a lot of tragedies from happening and it could help people that plan on doing them by getting them into psych wards.

No, you can't or predict who will go off. You would have to around up maybe 300,000 troubled kids to catch one kid who MIGHT shoot up a school. We have 15 million kids in grades 9 to 12 in the U.S. You are asking to do something we don't have the resources to do and it is nearly impossible.

People will say the kid said "x y z" and whatever but the truth is that kids say stupid shit all the time. Seriously, stupid shit all the time and we expect adults to be able to sift through a mountain of stupid shit to know who is being serious?

You could also get rid of Obama’s policy of not giving kids felonies. If someone is 16 or 17 years old and they constantly get into fights or trouble with the law it is likely they are not going to change once they are considered legal adults.

Someone close to the Florida shooter called the FBI and specifically said he was armed and said he was going to shoot up a school. This was after another person notified the FBI about the shooter. That is on top of the around 30 calls the police received about the shooter.

I mean, if the FBI and police ignore DIRECT warnings about school shootings and ignore 30+ calls about the kid being unhinged then we are fucked.

Do you really think there are 150,000 kids who had someone close to them call the FBI with direct concerns about school shootings?

Yeah, and come down hard on a ridiculous number of kids who likely are victims of a terrible home life.
And what is dealt with? Send them to prison where they will harden and have no job prospects when they exit? Setup a massive healthcare program that will cost an insane amount of money and you can't force anyone into it.
