""Tatyana Moskalkova, Russia's Human Rights Commissioner, proposed raising the age requirement for purchasing firearms to 21 years old, from the current limit of 18, except for those who have served in the army."

Meanwhile in "the greatest country ever"

There is a mass shooting everyday and no chance of anything being done.

And before people mention Russias autocratic nature. My point is that there society despite being autocratic seems to be normal enough to realize mass shootings shouldnt be a daily part of life or healthy.

You're coming at this from the point of view that more gun control always = good when clearly other disagree with this sentiment. Thats the obvious reason things don't change

Oh look and quickly video games are blamed yet again. Maybe they should ban drugs.

However, some other politicians and officials have called for more unorthodox measures to prevent another tragedy. Senator Alexander Bashkin called for control over “violent computer games,” suggesting that the concept of ‘desirable and undesirable content’ should be applied.

“In these games, there are pieces of flesh flying, blood splattering, and violence – it can be extremely dangerous for the unformed teenage psyche,” he said.

Violent video game engagement is not associated with adolescents' aggressive behaviour: evidence from a registered report

Because Americans bled and sacrificed to be free at any cost, we didnt buy the perception of safety with liberty... Or at least we didn't up until recently...

Russia has had gun control for a while

18 to buy, no rifles at that point, must be licensed to purchase anything, shotgun for two years then can apply for a 22lr rifle; “normal” rifles after some time and after 21, magazine capacity is limited to 10rounds, limit of IIRC 3 guns, NO pistols allowed; in fact they sell CO2 handguns and some people carry them for defense use.

“Sounds reasonable” fine, whatever; 2A exists here, and we’re infringed enough; get fucked

This is just Russia interfering in our elections

Russia usually has about 3 to 6 mass shootings a year.

This year 1 so far

Guns are either easy to get or not, depending on the region and i mean illegally

Gun ownership is a liberal thing in Russia. Conservatives support ban on weapons. Majority of the population are against guns.

Ignorant American right-wingers only see Putin as the shirtless guy on the horse who loves MMA. They all assume he has the same gun fetish they do.
