This is sad, I love Half Moon Bay. So far I've heard it was at two different pot farms and the suspect is at large in a red SUV, that's what they just said on TV. For anyone who hasn't seen Murder Mountain on Netflix, it's bad up here in Nor Cal in regards to marijuana grow ops and drug cartels.

Jesus, is there still a lot of money in Marijuana grow ops for Cartels to be involved and killing people over?
Yeah, they also grow on public land and it's a big problem. There was a park ranger from up here on Rogan talking about how they'd find grow ops on public land because ranchers would see streams dry up then realize the cartel diverted the stream and was using the water to grow pot.

Marijuana is still a huge business for cartels because they ship it to states where it isn't legal.

Very unlikely that this is cartel related. These sound like legal farms, and Half Moon Bay isn't an area where the cartels work they are WAY up north in the middle of nowhere.

Probably a personal vendetta or just a straight up robbery.

These sound like legit farms but cartels don't just operate way up north. They've found grow ops in the Santa Cruz mountains and south Santa Clara county.

I’m honestly surprised this hasn’t happened more often . Nor Cal outdoor growing has been crazy since I was in junior high 20’years ago barely any cartel back then

I knew an old school hippie guy in Mendocino county

Dude, NorCal is wild. Cartels have taken over entire towns way up north.

I'm only a few minutes in..

Is it legal to home grow? In British Columbia shit like that simply can't happen as anyone who smokes grows. You're allowed up to 7 plants per person (household? Someone correct me if I'm wrong) so the shit is everywhere in people's back yards. I know people with jungles in their backyard so no business or entity is going to be able to corner the market.

Then again, industrial sized operations like that don't produce for just for local markets. That shit has to be stomped out ruthlessly. Like scorched earth policy.

I don't smoke but as far as I know, here in California you need a cannabis card and you have to purchase your weed from a dispensary. I've been to many dispensaries with my girl, and with friends, they are everywhere.

Shooter turned himself in. News says it was a Chinese man and victims are Chinese farm workers.

I don't smoke either, but am in full support of legalization. You don't need any sort of paperwork to grow for personal use here in Canada.

About 20 years ago I was a member of an off-road board based out of Cali. Some of the members talked about stumbling onto grow ops in the bush and having to skedaddle the hell out of there real quick. But it didn't sound anything like the stuff in that video. I'm 10 minutes in and it's getting pretty wild.

California is incredibly huge. The mountains and foothills are everywhere in NorCal. The cartels do huge grows all over the mountains and in rural areas. Huge unimaginable grows. If you hike for fun you may never return. LoL.

I don't think there's a way to do it without legalizing drugs and ending the drug war. You would need to create legal markets and declare literal war on anyone who goes outside of those markets. And the problem I already see arising is hippies and teenagers and people who grow would end up getting snared in the new black market laws and catch years for nothing. But I don't think there's any other ways to put the cartels out of business other than no tolerance for any black market dope.

What up with these crazy Asian grandpas during the lunar new year? Year of the rabbit off to a cray cray start.
