I'm usually all in favour of fighters continuing until the ref pulls them off

But in this case, Masidal landed the knee which was one movement. He had to readjust his position after landing the knee and could clearly see Askren was out stiff as a board. He saw this then consciously went in to punch a totally out stiff Askren.

This is not like a fighter who has started a sequence of punches on an opponent and cant tell if they are out.

And this is not like an opponent who was stunned and still wiggling around, this is an opponent who was totally stiff and out

This was a dangerous action and should not be celebrated

Then regardless of the trash talk, mocking an opponent cleanly out cold is as classless as it comes

It was fine, Askren has a great chin as shown in the Lawler fight. You pour it on him till the ref stops it.

Defend yourself at all times and if you can’t then pray for a ref who’s quick on his feet.

the mocking at the end is typical childish behavior that Masvidal always shows, but you can't blame him for the two punches afterwards. Askren till this point had a great chin, you never know when its over.

I love everything about those 2 punches ben deserved it and as masvidal said go watch tennis or someshit.

You wanna know what's classless? Going on like you outclassed Robbie Lawler when you know he didn't tap and you know he wasn't out. That was absolutely classless. This is what he gets for it and going on as if he didn't rightfully lose that fight. The universe aligned to give that dork ben askren the most bitter piece of humble pie ever.

He stopped when the ref got between him and Askren, what are you on about?

Edit: Askren came back from a flash KO in his last fight and won the fight, you expect Masvidal to stop when he catches him?

This shit isn't for you snowflake.

Go take up Tiddley Winks.

Jorge was doing his job. Kinda on the ref to get in there faster. Tbf no ref is ready for a 5 second ko.

He's named his son Macho Man. Punches were fine.

Damn, casuals really have no idea what an adrenaline dump feels like.

Geez....maybe you shouldn’t watch MMA.

I agree that afterwards, it does seem brutal to add punches after such a KO. And it does have class when one fighter knows how to avoid further damage in such a moment (for example: Machida with that high kick KO on Munoz and not adding anything).

But in the heat of the moment, adrenaline and also inner happiness that you just scored a spectular KO, I think you just go for the kill without even thinking. Ngannou is certainly not an asshole, yet he needed to be pushed away from Overeem even if the fight was clearly over after that uppercut. I think the same thing went through Masvidal's mind.

Or maybe not, who knows. But these were my 2 cents.

Herzog actually did a decent job considering how unexpected it was. Strike landed at like 3 seconds into the round, Herzog stopped it at 5.
He is a great and consistent ref.

Damn! Masvidal had some power. Not only did those 2 punches wrench Ben's chin, they also put a hurtin' on your vagina.

Have you ever seen a guy get KO'd and then regain consciousness? If you aren't new to MMA, you have. Keep punching until the ref stops it. I suspect that you are just a salty Mas hater or Askren fanboy.
