Masanori Kanehara among others cut from the UFC

Too bad because he had a real cool style to watch. Just couldn't cut it in the big leagues.
 
Dumb. Kanehara was whooping Michael Mcdonalds butt before Mcdonald's illegal fence grab won him the fight.

Debuts and beats a top 15 BW in a solid upset.
Gets blanketed and wall and stalled for 3 rounds while outlanding Yahya by 5:1 and loses by split dec.
Effortlessly controls the McDonald fight, nearly submits him, and loses to a shady reversal using the fence and a clutch choke.

I predicted bigger things for Damon Jackson. Oh well.
 
Kanehara was brought in to lose to Caceres. Wins that. Loses a bullshit decision to Yahya, then has a good showing against a -600 favorite before being finished.

Not exactly the most favorable UFC run.
 
You can likely add Diego Brandao to the cut list.

I remember he was looking like a good prospect after he choked out Garcia. He goes from that, to getting strangled himself twice in the UFC, and now cut off a draw. Tough break.

The Kanehara cut is... odd.
 
only know 2 names on that list, and I watch basically every event. crazy how forgetful everything is in UFC these days.
 
Bogus cut for Kanehara. Big upset, loses a terrible decision to a solid fighter, dominates a top 10 fighter until he gets submitted via an illegal move. Stupid
 
kanehara got robbed against yahya, and was dominating mcdonald. bad cut.
 
Kanehara deserved another chance.
 
Sucks for Kanehara, he's still a top 20 guy. Beat up Caceres in his debut, gets robbed against Yahya, and was dominating McDonald for a round and a half in a fight nobody gave him a chance.
 
They'll resign him when they book a show in Asia.
