Pacquiao fought Mosley way after he got out classed by Floyd and was KNOWN to be shot. Floyd fought him when he was the NUMBER ONE Weltwerweight in the world, beating Clottey does not make Pacquiao the number one, Mosley beat the guy who beat the guy. Pacquiao tried to bring Mosley down to something ridiculous like 143 pounds, it was one of the most blatant ducks I've seen.
Of course a win over a prime Margarito coming off a Cotto win at his natural weight is better than a roided up gift against De La Hoya. What you don't understand is, Margarito destroyed the number one welterweight Cotto, and became the number one, then when Mosley destroyed Margo, he becomes the number one, simple as that. Pacquiao had a chance to claim that crown but he ducked Shane.
Your trying to make this into a Floyd vs Pac thing. No one cares anymore, take your shitty arguments elsewhere. Boxing fans considered Shane Mosley to be the number one guy at welterweight, that is all that matters. Do some reading kid...

Bollex mate. Stop with the rubbish your fooling nobody. At the time everybody wanted to see him fight Pacquiao, I know because I was following boxing at the time. Mosely had dropped out of the vast majority of rankings at the time because he was inactive, his following results proved how shot he was n Marg beat who exactly? Cotto n Cintron, n that's meant to be a better win than a peak DLH, who is one of the greatest fighters of the modern era and regardless of what you say, Pac beat him more convincingly. Mosely probably would have beaten both in his day though and also, Mosely never ducked Mayweather, that is the biggest forum myth in boxing.
90% of the rankings had taken Mosely out of their rankings completely at that time due to inactivity. Why would Pacquiao be scared of Mosely, he beat destroyed Cotto who had already beaten a younger and fresher Mosely.
All of these Mayweather wins were hand picked, and this is what we're talking about here, Ortiz, Mosely, Cotto, De La Hoya who were hyped up massively all proved to over rated wins. If you really believe that Mosely was the number one guy because of some BS argument of lineage then that shows how new you really are to boxing.
Shannon Briggs has NEVER at any point in his career been regarded as the number one heavyweight fighter, yet at one point he held the lineal title, after he beat Foreman, who beat Moorer, who beat Holyfield etc. except guess what? the mystical lineal title was all Foreman held because he had been stripped of every other title and the same applies to Mosely.
Carlos Baldomir beat Judah, who beat Spinks who was the man yet Baldomir was NEVER at any point in his career regarded by any respectable boxing ranking as the number 1 ww. He was even at this point ranked below Cotto, Margarito, Mosely Mayweather, and he had been getting the shit beaten out of him until he got DQ'd by Clottey.
If you're going to use this lineal title BS then that proves you can't face the truth, that Pacquiao was the number 1 guy at this time and that was the fight people (including Pacquiao wanted).
Do any of you really think Pacquiao was to blame for that not happening? the guy who fought Barrera on 2 weeks notice? The guy who has given Marquez 3 rematches in an attempt to prove he's better. Pacquiao does not duck people, Mayweather on the other hand does and thanks to him, the fight to save boxing didn't happen and any self respecting boxing fan should be pissed off royaly about that but there are too many mayweather fans who claim to be boxing fans.
That is that, the facts are on the table, cba to waste my time on anyone who does not want to face them because it is like trying to get blood from a stone.
