He was at the Bellator expo handing out flyers of how Ken Shamrock has talked all this shit about him and how he wants to kick his ass. It was pretty sad actually, he was just looking for a pay-day. I'm pretty sure Coker is not interested in promoting that fight. I just thought that was funny and wondered if anyone has any stories like that. lll upload the flyer later it was pretty cringe-worthy.

Calling out a brain damaged 50 year old man is lame. Is he too afraid to call out Royce instead?

I needed to go to the Fight finder to see who he was...

I was hoping he was the dude that Abott almost threw of the arena...

He was the dude with the speech impediment, most famous for refusing Frye's proposal to "quit with honor" during their first fight in which he was ground to a fine paste, and nearly as famous for the worked submission loss in their third fight in 96 (so that Frye could face Tank fresh). Classy as always, Frye refused to pay Hall afterwards, which started the story that he actually took Frye to court, though that last one could be an urban legend (too long ago for me to remember).

Please post that flyer. I was at the show on Friday night and just randomly ran into Hall out in the lobby, it was one of the coolest and most bizarre moments of the weekend for me. I grew up watching the old UFC tapes so instantly recognized him. At first I just seen his t-shirt, which was an old "Cobra Mark Hall" t-shirt that looked like it was from the 90's. I was going to go up to the guy to tell him I liked his shirt, then he turned around and it actually was Mark Hall himself, grey and shaggy in jogging pants.

We talked for a good 10 minutes probably. He went on and on about this Ken Shamrock business. He told me that they were supposed to fight in Pride back in the day but Ken backed out or something, so he tried to sue him. I just gave him props and respect and went about my way. Got to give it to the old timers. Hall had some fun moments in those old school UFC tapes. Hall was just 170 or 180 pounds back in the day fighting guys like Paul Varelans(6'8", 320) and Koji Kitao(300 pounds). My favorite moments of his was in the fight with Varelans at UFC 7 he had to jump up as high as he could to hit Varelans with a punch, it was a gutsy performance even though he lost.

Also remember his fights in IVC, in the same tournament as Wanderlei vs Muriano(the cut). Hall dug his chin into the eye of the guy he fought in the first round of that tournament, partially blinding him and ending his fight career if I remember correctly. He talked briefly about his fight with Muriano in the second round of that tournament, saying something about how Muriano targeted his injured leg and it was against "the code", the whole time he was telling me that I was just thinking about him digging his chin into the other guy's eyeball.

Did a little bit of research when I got home and Hall and Ken actually got into an altercation in the parking lot of a KOTC show back in 2000. They were actually talking about Ken Shamrock vs Mark Hall in Pride at the Grand Prix, Ken's first fight back from WWE, instead of Hall though he fought Otsuka instead.

Another fun fight was Hall beating the fuck out of Harold Howard in the first round of UFC 7, this was after Howard's "If you're coming on... then come on!" performance at UFC 3 when he "defeated" Royce Gracie. Hall was small but he had a lot of heart, and anyone who would fight someone 100 pounds bigger in a no rules/no gloves/no timelimit cagefight, you got balls of steel and I respect you.

Yeah that was at KOTC 4, but not in the parking lot, it was "backstage" i.e. on the way to the toilets in the Casino they were holding the event at. I find it hilarious that the guy still isnt over it after 16 years, esp. since he started with the shit talking.

Edit: And Hall didnt end Fraga's career, his last MMA fight Im aware of was 2004, he competed in BJJ until at least 2011.
