Mark Kerr was frustrating to watch fight.

He once won by jamming his chin into his opponents eye(Dan Bobish) while laying on him. I pretended that's what he was always going for.

His documentary was great and a million times more entertaining than his fights.
 
Mark Kerr is as close to Mark Coleman 2.0 as you could imagine.
 
Yes he was content to lay and pray several fighters he should have....well....smashed.

He was, sadly, mentally weak and happy to take as little risk as possible to get the win. Especially after Vovchanchyn took him out the first time.
 
He's honestly one of the most overrated fighters on here. He had a winning streak over cans--and I mean really bad 1990s cans like Ranger Stott (who made up his own martial arts style) and Morti Hortenstein. The chin-in-eye submission over Bobish was probably his best win. And it could be argued that was eye-gouging, which was illegal even back then (John Hess got fined a ton for finger-in-the-eye gouging). Once he faced real competition (Igor V) he went straight downhill.

I have nothing against him, but this talk of him being a "beast" who could 'hang with the best HWs today" is bunk. Even the 40+ year old, mostly shot HWs today could run through his first 10 opponents like melted butter.

He was a wrestle-humper, but he did have some nasty GnP when he let it go. He ruined a lot of faces back in the day.
 
Kerr was one of the most intimidating looking people in the history of fighting. Until he started talking.

Even more frustrating is that he was also an ADCC champion with an actual decent ground game and he will still happy to lie in people's guards.

Mark seems like a good guy and he had awesome potential but his personal problems destroyed any ability he had to pull the trigger in the ring.

Once knees to grounded opponent were made illegal, Kerr was done. Yeah, he was spent a bit before that, but this cemented it.

But damn, he did that well.
 
His fight vs Hugo Duarte was one of the worst ever. But a lot of blame goes to Duarte for being a pussy.

He said F the armbar and did a can opener as a SUBMISSION against Igor Borisov.
