It really came down to politics. People having an issue with the government spending advertising dollars with the UFC. I think it was a good relationship. The Marines would hold physical fitness contests, grappling, etc. at events.
Sad to see it end, would rather see the military sponsoring than alcohol and energy drinks.

There's a reason Brock Lesnar and Chael Sonnen are 2 of the most popular fighters in the sport even though they are not very well-rounded.
