Looks like the brown belt dream team is now the black belt dream team!

Matheus, Dillon and Mansher have now been promoted to black belt! Those guys are monsters and I'm sure there are alot of brown belts that have a sigh of relief!

Enjoy

Looks like we'll see how Lauzon stacks up against a black belt now

Is Bernardo Faria living in NYC now and training with MG full time?

Who is the best one out of them? Dillion? I know each one is a badass in their own right just wondering?

I think Mansher has had the most success across gi and no gi, among the three recently promoted.

I am curious, other than Grippo, do the rest of the "dream team" guys train full time?

No, definitely Dillon...
And yes, they all train full time.

I'm curious about this too.

I know Dillon is on a tear lately but I figured it was Diniz since he gave Keenan a run for his money a while back at Grapplers Quest or whatever it was.

I think they all train in the 2 classes Marcelo teaches (M-Friday), Open Mat Saturday, and then they might drill in between classes and also teach a class a few times a week.

When is JCash going to get promoted? He has been sandbagging long enough. Total BS he hasn't gotten his Black Belt yet.

Pretty sure Cash retired from jiujitsu and just makes vines with white girls now

Indeed I'm after the VINE money know and occasionally just make people laugh. Whenever I get my brown which is prob a long time from now I'll just make a random big splash and people will just be like wtf who is this guy than just disappear and go start a family after my run. You heard it here first.

As usual, IBJJF and the Gracies are scumbags about it:

Marcelo Garcia added three new black belts to his team.

After great showing at the New York Spring Open last weekend, Matheus Diniz, Mansher Khera and Dillon Danis were surprised with the new belt this Monday.

“I still do not believe. Very happy, for sure one of the happiest days of my life. Black belt,” wrote Diniz on his Facebook page.

With the promotion, the trio have a little over one month to score 50pts on the IBJJF ranking to be able to compete in the 2015 Worlds as black belts.

As they changed belts, all their points from the brown belt are wasted and as they didn’t win their divisions at the 2014 Worlds as brown belts they do not have secured spots in the 2015 Worlds black belt division.

Haha, I guess we will re-visit this thread in the future...

I'm not a huge fan of forcing people to qualify to compete, but people had been calling on the IBJJF to make people qualify for worlds for YEARS(not to mention almost every other sport forces you to qualify if you want to compete at the highest level) calling that scummy is kind of silly.

If those guys don't get to compete at worlds it won't be the IBJJF who screwed them over it will be Marcelo.
