Marcelo was and is my favourite grappler - my game was built around a lot of his style (back control, guillotine and going for submissions).

I really do hate bring it up but it is really unfair how it is the nicest guys end up having to deal with health issues like this.

Life is weird. Not that I wish bad on Buffet or Trump, but dumb luck and genetics play a role. Cancer is basically a crap shoot, there was someone on Lex Fridman's podcast not long ago talking about the perfect storm it takes for cancer cells to form and multiply. I think it was the Michael Levin interview.

Not necessarily. Leandro got killed, but Orlando Sanchez too. RIP to both.



On another note, is anyone in Marcelo's network or know him personally? A doctor that is a black belt and an old friend told me about this guy. He swears (my friend) that he's been able to cure cancer for over 20 years but big medicine and big pharma wants him shut down. This isn't quackery with crystals etc., it's based on solid scientific research.

Someone please get this to Marcelo if you know him.

Just out of curiosity, did Marcelo ever take PEDs or massive amount ifof antibiotics? Could alot or physical strain on the stomach(knee on belly) cause this? Just seems bizarre.
