“I’m not going to make excuses. Some people thought I won the first and third round, and some people think I lost them,” he said.
“I was never one of those guys that was so proud of being undefeated. I was always geared towards performance. I didn’t really care about my record.
“To me, it doesn’t make any difference, I know my goal and I know my target. Nothing has changed for me. I still believe that I will be a UFC champion.
“Against Drakkar, I was trying to pick my shots a lot. He kept snapping away at my front leg, and I’ve got to give it to him; it was a good game plan.
“There’s a lot to work on based on what happened in that fight, and I’m excited to get back in there and show everybody my improvements the next time I fight.”
Diakiese is the first to admit that getting a rematch against Klose is unlikely, but he still would like to set the record straight if the UFC allows the fight to go ahead.
“I’ve read an interview with him and he said that he doesn’t want a rematch, that’s how f**king badly he wants to hold onto that win.
“Instead of fighting me again, he said he wants me to train with him. You know, go up to his gym and work with him, but I’m not really into that.
