Exactly the lines are drawn on exceptions and technicalities instead of a rational line. Meltzer wrote an article this week that kind of rambled but basically just stated what the commission has done to fighters regarding in the last year or so Specifically Wandy, Vitor, Chael, Jon and Diaz. Its a mess. You couldn't find a set rule in just analyzing the way those 5 cases were handled if you tried.

The whole system needs to be torn apart and restructured. Ditch this IC vs OOC designation all together. If not, make it legit. Competition really starts when a fight is agreed to, not 12 hours before it happens.

Come on homie, what does Wand have to do with anything in this thread? Read more than a username, you're a better poster than that.

Because Jones is the golden boy and the UFC's full time job is to be on damage control for him.

Maybe the fighters are pissed off because guys are losing their jobs for the same shit he's done, sometimes less.
"Oh he had a contract with us, we were forced to give him that fight and make millions".
Right, tell that to Nick Diaz when you stripped his fight for a measly press conference.

Double standards on any and every front. Thats why fans are pissed. Thats why fellow employees are pissed.
Oh? I keep re-reading my post and I can't find anything I said about this managers thoughts being valid. You've either got some serious ESP or lack the ability to read past a username.

Give me a few examples of favoritism, if you don't mind.

What I see mainly are a hell of a lot of people confused about the rules, which is surprising when you consider they are actually very simple. Do you have problems understand them?

The Reebok issue is tough, nobody will know if it's good or bad for quite a while, and chances are, it will be good for some and bad for others, fighter to fighter.

They're playing dumb. Diuretics can be used as masking agents, and for weight cutting.

also the main difference here is that Diuretics are banned at ALL times regardless of IC/OOC testing

Im not saying i agree with all these but fighters could potentially be pissed about someone like McGoat getting a title shot before Edgar and Cub, Anderson beating a WW who hasnt won a fight in over 3 years and getting a shot over Jacare, every fighter not named Jones getting dragged through the coals about failing a test.

Jones and UFC are business partners, and right now they're supporting him, which they absolutely should be doing. What do YOU think they should be doing? The NSAC really screwed up here and should be taken to task.

Press conferences are important. Maybe you don't think so, but Zuffa does, and they didn't keep it a secret. Nick snuck out of his house and vanished for hours, his own coach didn't know where he'd gone, he was a wild card, and they took him out of the fight. I was disappointed but would probably have done the same thing.

I have a really hard time seeing this as a double standard.

Not sure what to tell you about professional athletes, but it took me five seconds to find a list of the substances you can and can't take, when you can and when you can't.

Zuffa isn't perfect, that's for damned sure.

I have never liked the process of awarding title shots.

That was my point is that fighters are going to be angry at perceived favoritism, whether it makes business sense or not.

    Of course he shouldn't.

I'm definitely not a fan of his, but this was none of our business and if the NSAC hadn't invaded his privacy by giving him the wrong test, we wouldn't have known.
