After what Cyborg said, I decided to use google.

In 1960, the average American male weighed about 166.3 pounds, which was the average weight for American women in 2010 at 166.2 pounds, which marks about a 18.5 percent increase. The average weight for women in 1960 was 140 pounds, according to the CDC report.Jun 15, 2015

The average weight for women in 1960 was 140 pounds, according to the CDC report. The average weight for men has also increased to 195.5 pounds, gaining almost 30 pounds, which is a 17.6 percent increase. Both men and women have also gained about an inch in height since the 1960s.

Turns out that the average man weights 195lbs.....which makes it part of the Middlweight Division....Now with weight cutting it's WW division.

Either way, in the UFC both the MW Division/WW division exist...and it makes sense since most men see themselves in them.

Now women on average weight 166lbs.....Which will mean that a 145lbs division should represent the average women.

Yet the UFC doesn't have this division? Isn't it wrong that there isn't a division the represents the average women but yet Men have such a division?

I think Cyborg is right, there is some double standards here.....and the UFC should address this buy bringing the 145lbs division to the UFC.

Plenty of Average Women out there are probably wonder, "Why in the hell isn't there women who weight as much as me competing?"..In a way it's shaming the Average Female women consumer.

It's time to address this equality issue in MMA.

That weight is out of shape. Average weight with a "fitness" level of bodyfat is much lower

166? Lol WTF

lots of fat bitches, no one wants to see that.

thats scary. very few 166 pound women could be even remotely attractive

what a nchildish thread...

USA is the country with more % of obese people in the world (google that also)
people don´t walk arround fit and ready to cut

so if the average is 195 lbs you can deduct they are 185ers???
lol
take the obesity into account and the whole OP is wrong

Also, people are less fit than in the 60s because of food industry wich produces delicious food with tons of fat

The TS makes me wonder what the average intelligence level is on Sherdog.

The average weight for women in the US may be 166 lbs but that says nothing about the number of well trained and athletic women who are available to get punched in the face at 145 lbs.

If they made a 145 division right now, it would be Cyborg + a bunch of women that have records of 8-6. She ended that division when she ended Carano.

While I would like to see a women's 145 division, I find your reasoning to be flawed. I think most women that naturally weigh 166 lbs. would be fighting at 125 or 135 once they get fit and then cut weight.

Maybe because WW is stacked and there is zero depth at WFW, this is like the 3rd post I've seen from you today which is completely retarded

We're a fat country TS. I'm six foot and 175 and could still probably cut to 155 if I cleaned up my diet and dehydrated myself. I guess my point is I'm bigger than the average person and still not close being a real MW.

The average woman, who stands at about 5'5", should ABSOLUTELY NOT be 166 lbs.
Where the h*** do people get these numbers? Are we talking about Wal Mart moms here or athletes?

Edit: Plus, you're forgetting that fighters cut weight.

thats scary. very few 166 pound women could be even remotely attractive
Just like very few 195 lb men could be even remotely attractive. Fighting is about fighting, not who looks good.

idk what your source is op but dude. I dont know a single woman that 166 pounds lol. Not even close

Average male weight in the US is 195 pounds, and the average height is 5'9. This clearly represents that obesity skews what you would think is average. If I had to give an estimate on the average guy who is in decent shape, I would say he is 5'8-5'10 and weighs between 150-175. The averages for a female at 5'5 and 166.5 once again obesity skews what would actually be average. I would say a healthy female at 5'4-5'6 should weigh anywhere from 120-145 depending on frame.

Cyborg is obviously too big for 135, she weighs like 165-170 walking around. As much as we would like in a perfect world for there for to be a competitive 145 division, its not going to happen. They would essentially create 145 as the "Cyborgweight" division. The division would probably go under after she retires. If the UFC is going to add another division , it is going to be 125. It already has a history and probably more fighters then 115 and 135. There are plenty of 135ers who are on the small side and would do better at 125. Some girls at 115 have a big cuts too so they would move up.

She can either lose some weight and get down to 135 comfortably, or just keep doing 140 catchweight fights in the UFC / Defending her Invicta title. I think eventually the UFC will absorb Invicta, but I doubt 105 and 145 will make it over.
