All I can say is this makes me sad, I was going to lol but at the end of the day a bunch of women are being treated like shit while others with privilege over here are hard at work to let everyone know a cat call is rape.

I also can't help but feel like the organizing company just accepted this for a long time to sustain profit. I mean did they purchase from a manufacturer there thinking anything different? A certain amount of intentional blindness was had here, you don't just start buying diamonds from Liberia hoping they aren't blood diamonds do you?

It just shows that you don't have to be evil to do evil. That's something feminists must learn.

The oppressed become the oppressors. Power corrupts.

But also, just like a teen leaving the house has to take shit jobs to improve their life, nations go through a similar process. I don't get super outraged at stories like this. Every country goes through stages of exploitation. And although we should be on their ass to improve, to share wealth, the answer is not to just stop business. I'm glad they well still do business with the company so long as the company improves conditions. That is the way capitalism should work.

Actually, this is extremely accurate. Kuznets curve FTW.

despite what they'd have you believe, western feminists don't care about third world women in any way.

I'm completely secure, but I still don't like most of what I see going on under the banner of "feminism" these days. Maybe it's because I grew up in the 70's or something, but 20 years ago a lot of this stuff would have been considered absolutely ridiculous.
