What do you guys think of this fight? My roommate trains at Woodley's gym here in Rock Hill, and Woodley says this fight is highly probable considering when both fighters will be ready to go again.

Discuss?

Maia deserves someone with higher stock. Safferdine wouldn't be bad, but a winnerfrom the upcoming 158 card would be better. Doesn't really matter who.

maia wants a guy woodley beat already....

I won't say Maia by total destruction but he's moving forward for the title. Woodley needs to string a few more wins to get where Maia is at.

I think Woodley's stock is pretty high right now... He's only one fight removed from being SF WW champ.

Maia is the worst possible matchup for one dimensional wrestlers. (Woodley's one knockout doesn't make him K-1 ready).

Maia was bad for Fitch, worse for Woodley. Lets test Maia with someone else.

Maia is ranked top 5 WW, Woodley is not even in the top 10. Yea, impressive win over Hieron but Jay has the worst luck in the UFC. Pyle, Pierce, & even Jake Shields who's movin down to WW again makes sense for Woodley at this time.

Did you not see Woodley's fight with Marquardt?
His striking is getting better.

He's far from one-dimensional.

I'd rather see

Woodley vs Pierce

Maia vs Saffiediene

While I think Woodly would be a handful for Maia and may even beat him I think he has a little more work to do before he gets a fight like that.

Not only that but he is very explosive, is a great athlete, and can knock you out with one punch.

Maia is the flavor of the month right now and rightfully so, but anyone thinking he would beat Woodly easily is crazy.

Maia's one of my favorite fighters and i would favor him, but i agree, people acting like Woodley, who has lost ONCE to the same guy who KO'd Maia in a round, is an easy fight for Demian are just being ridiculous.

I must be crazy because Maia would beat Woodly, and easily.

Woodly's stand up is decent, but outside of a puncher's chance, his odds of getting tangled up and dragged to the mat are insanely high. Once he's in that position, what's going to happen? Hope his top game is stifling enough to avoid being swept?

Agree that Maia should get a high ranked opponent next

As for Woodley, how about Alves ?
