With that said, who should he fight next?

Lawler/Brown gets Hendricks, Macdonald/Woodley winner will probably fight Lombard/Dong winner for next title shot, that leaves Saffiedine, Pyle, maybe Nelson or Gastelum if they win their scheduled fights.

I'd really like to see Nelson-Maia, i think it would be amazing grappling match.

No he is not back in the title picture. But he should fight Ellenberger.

Not sure... he hasn't been that entertaining in a while, didn't watch this fight.

And not really interested in him fighting for the title, he should move back to MW and rematch Sonnen if Vitor cant fight.

He can break that UD streak then.

The Burger should be able to beat him, but I'm sure he'll find a way to lose instead.

    Lets be honest.

Either he subs a guy quickly, or just out positions them for a full fight.

    that's how he wins.

He also is not in the title picture, he beat a random guy, and couldn't finish him with like 10 minutes of mount.

Wasn't Dong very butthurt over his loss to Maia? I think a rematch would be cool.

Perfect time for Dong to get it also.

Maia has looked like a bag of greased fuck lately and should have one foot out the door already.

He makes too much money to perform like he does. His conditioning is nothing short of awful as well.

They should give Maia's contract to Ben Askren.

If one goes into full defensive mode it's pretty much impossible to get subbed. It's not like he had many opportunities and failed. His opponent give up fighting to defend himself.

How does a guy go from losing 2 in a row, gets a (another) decision win, this against an unranked opponent to a title shot?

    Did I miss something here?

Maia is barely a threat to anyone. After his last fight nobody should be scared of his submissions.

The guy performs terribly. Utterly terribly. I have no problem with TS suggestion of throwing him in the mix with the top 5 back to back so he gets cut and shipped off to WSOF so he can quit wasting card space.

Guy makes like over $100k per fight for him to show up looking greased fuck, gassing out and making excuses.

The guy fights like he doesn't even have a camp. He just makes bank to get tired in 5 minutes and be a punching bag.

WW beast Maia only lasted for a couple of fights. He will never get a title shot again and I can't see him beating a top #5 opponent. I would love to watch him sub guys with weak sub defense though.

Not title shot, title 'picture'. Every fighter in top 10 is in 'title picture'.
