Macro Lenses

Hey I figured we got ourselves some photographers here. I have a pretty decent Nikon DSLR and am a big fan of macro photography. Was wondering if anyone can recommend me a good mid range Macro lens to use?

Here is an example of my use of macro with just the cameras built in function. If I had a macro lens I could get an even better shot. So please help is much appreciated folks.

Been looking at some glass recently, but the one I was looking at (canon EF 100mm f/2.8) is almost as much as my camera was, so I just don't have the money now, and I'd rather save up and get good glass than buy something less than good now and then spend even more later.

Maybe check out some digitalrev reviews, they do good stuff.
