Im a huge Machida fan and to be honest im kinda nervous about this fight because Henderson is the closest to shogun that Machida has ever fought.

Iron chin, heavy hands, agressive... the way machida struggled with shogun really has me worried about this fight, i can already see hendo bullrushing machida with his right hand up high ready to be unloaded in the first 10 seconds of the fight just like shogun flurried lyoto with punches in the 2nd fight.

    Another thing is hendo

Machida is too pure a martial artist for Henderson.

    Lyoto will have him studied.

Dan can knock out a horse if he lands straight, but I'm taking Lyoto by moving away from that hand and picking him apart like a demon surgeon of death.

I think Machida has a counter festival.

Machida eats wrasslers for breakfast. If he can handle the leg kick+overhand right combo then it's basically a free decision win.

The way I see it, Machida will keep the distance and just counter strike the whole fight slowly getting the advantage in the score cards.

I think it will be a close fight. Unless Henderson can land a hard shot and put Cheetah out or overwhelm him with gnp after a hard shot, that's what I see happening.

Hendo by KO, though I see Machida staying on the outside for a good portion of the fight, just picking Dan apart.

Henderson's been dropped in several of his last fights.

Machida can absolutely finish the deal.

I would imagine his point being Hendo wasn't always getting dropped, and everyone's chin goes eventually.

    But I'm not him soo

    Machida:
-first and only person to KO Rashad
-first and only person to KO Thiago Silva
-first and only person to KO Bader

I like Dan, and he hits like a horse, but I think his name will end up on the list too.

    And you'd be right.

Henderson's been hurt by guys that go wild, which has allowed Dan to survive. Machida's an artist and a tactician. If he gets Dan hurt, he's more than capable of locking in and finishing the fight.

And it's silly acting like it's not significant that Dan's been dropped and hurt badly in 3 of his last 4 fights. And the one before that, he was moments away from being finished by Jake Shields a good half a dozen times. Herb Dean would've stopped it without question.

Great stat. Love The Dragon and I do think this is a great matchup for him stylistically. Hendo will be tougher to KO than any of the three listed here, so although I'd love to see a finish, I'm gonna say Lyoto via UD.
