Machida or Romero who do you got? I'm leaning Machida I think hes to well-rounded and I hope sherdog doesn't judge him by his last fight his overall body of work is better and I think he has the tools to put Yoel to sleep I am going to take Machida by KO.

Man i dont know. Predicting Machida fights is no easy task. I'll just wait to see if this one actually happens.

I think it will depend on alot of things. Mostly Romeros gameplan. Or Lyotos? Fuck this idk.

That's actually kind of a tough one, just a year or two ago i'd have said Machida easily. Now i'd probably still lean towards the dragon but not as heavily.

Machida, even tho he got handled pretty easy by rockhold look at Romero, he almost got finished by Kennedy.

As soon as the fight was announce, I started to look at some of Romero fights and I have to say that I'm pretty impress by what I've seen so far. He relies on his left hand to do damage, but has multiples ways to set it up. His timing on his takedowns is pretty good and I can see the threat of it giving Machida some problems.

As good as he is though, I'd still favor Machida to win it. The only thing that has me worried is that Machida fought very recently and took a lot of damage. There's a chance that he hasn't really recovered well enough to be able to train for a another high level fight.

I got Machida in this one. I'm assuming he can outstrike Romero though. Interesting fight regardless ^^,

In before RedHawks comes in here crying about Machida fanboys, Machida being overrated, and other shit that sensitive insecure Anderson Silva nuthuggers say.

Its not Lyoto's fault Andy had to cheat to be great and its not Lyoto's fault Andy was losing to shit competition when clean, Red.

Now that i think about it, if Romero has booked another fight, does that mean Jacare is next in line for the title or are they going to do Rockhold/Jacare 2?

EDIT: Post of the beast, almost five years in

Romero has really savage gnp hoping he can take Machida down and break him. This fight is really interesting though

Machida evades into a unanimous decision or a late tko.

Tossup for a stupid fight to make. Throws either Machida or Romero under the bus... they are both too old to be knocked off by eachother

Machida here......I see this looking sort of like Davis/Machida early....but Romero will start to gas and Machida will take over.

On one hand, Machida's game is ready made to deal with big tough guys trying to stalk him throwing looping punches.

On the other, Romero is so strong and has a clear wrestling advantage, Machida can be cornered and clinched for long enough for Romero to try that wrestling on him.

Luke Rockhard is one of the few guys who can use his reach extremely well. Machida uses his footwork to slip and dodge attacks, that failed him utterly in his last fight. Romero won't show much diversity in the striking, so Machida should be able to have the clear advantage their, but Power is always the unknown variable. i think it depends on how durable Romero's chin is and Machida's ability to scramble away from Romero's wrestling.

Romero has shown an incredible lack of fight IQ, part of that charm makes him a fun guy to watch because he'll eat whatever just to land a bomb. I don't think i would be surprised if Romero decides to stand with Machida in this one. and it could cost him. the takedowns he does throw will probably just be to supplement his one dimensional striking game as feints.

machida 57.4% vs. Romero 42.6%
