Okay Vitor is washed up. I don’t think you can say the same for Lyoto just yet. Machidas style relies on his speed, which admittedly leaves a fighter in the later stages of their career, but I think Machida is just that skilled of a fighter to find success. He’s had a few brutal ko’s but a solid display against someone like Bisping puts him back in the top 5 imo

Bisping is done. A win against him at this point doesn't really mean anything.

Dude has a bad eye and mentionned recently he has trouble seeing clearly from his good eye.

That front kick was awesome.

Machida is on the tail-end of his career though. Hopefully he retires after another fight or two. Don't want to see him get hurt.

Didn’t watch the fight, only saw the KO on Instagram. Curious how the fight was going before the KO though.

I loved seeing Machida get another highlight reel KO. Don’t wanna see him fight the top of the division though after seeing Brunson put him out with ease. That was hard to watch. That chin is done.

I think Machida’s biggest problem nowadays is his chin. Younger Machida could have eaten that Brunson shot without going wobbly. He ate some big ones from Shogun in their first fight. Not so much anymore.

One thing I’ve noticed is he seems to use a lot more kicks lately. I think it’s an adjustment to have some aggression but keep out of punching range. Smart.

Even with that though, he should fight Bisping then maybe one more and retire.

Machida vs Uriah/Branch Maybe Brunson rematch. And call it a career.

Both looked extremely slow and old

I think they threw a like 15 strikes combined in the first round, mostly stood
There looking at each other and feinting looking to counter

2nd was going same — The kick came out of no where

Machida did not look good at all prior
To the kick — he doesn’t have much left

Bisping is the fight to make

I don’t know what you were watching. Besides the KO Machida looked awful. His timing was off and he looked every bit his age.

Thanks for this.

I’d have no problem with Machida Bisping.

I mean machida always looks like that when someone is also waiting on a counter. He is slower though but his reads are still good.

Machida never did well as an initiator

Bisping is only interested in fight WW's these days it seems.

Machida was excellent as an initiator - he simply rarely waded into such exchanges. He did it a few times - Rashad, Rampage, Jones (..I think) - and landed on some excellent combinations, but by and large he would feint or sidestep to set up counter combinations.

The Brazilian crowd actually started booing two Brazilian legends.

That's how the fight was going prior to the KO.

But he lost those except rashad...I know rampage was questionable. I guess what I mean is when he was overly aggressive he usually lost. When he waited and let someone else go first (like bader for example) he usually wins. That's my view anyway.

What's Machida's arsenal these days? Kicks. That's it.

I remember when Machida was developing a jab and looked to be evolving as a striker. Look at his fights against Bader and Randy. That guy would have made Vitor look foolish last night.
