It isn't as bad as the delusional fans of Mousasi and Overeem, but it is bad.

What great striker has Machida ever demolished? Rashad Evans? That is the only one, and Rashad has been just as timid as Machida is since that fight.

After that he lost to Shogun and the refs cheated Shogun. Then Shogun killed him in the first round, and Machida has been a Miles Jury type of runner ever since any time he fights a highly skilled fighter with serious power.

Hendo = He ran the entire time. That fight was horrible. Ask Dan.

Davis = Terrible striker, and Machida did literally nothing in that fight. Davis is usually the kind of guy that Machida looks great against standing.

Rampage = He waited until the 3 round to give a damn. He had no business losing to Rampage who is a slow flat footed guy that was a great striker 10 years ago in Pride when he was on juice.

Mousasi - Not a great striker, but Machida was good enough to outclass him, but Machida didn't ever at any point make any real attempts to put him away. Go watch Jacare and watch how Jacare put Mousasi away pretty easily, yet Jacare never gets props for his striking.

Then you have the guys like Bader, Dollaway, and Munoz. What do they all have in common? They are slow moving wrestlers who plod forward and are extremely easy to hit. Machida has very good TD defense, and I'll grant him that. A tough wrestler won't be able to take him down easily at all, so they'll have to strike with him. Machida can make those mid tier wrestlers that have poor striking look bad, but any other fighter that can truly put him away with big shots, Machida becomes MILES JURY.

Okay then, please tell me what great striker he has dismantled? Any time he has a a guy with dangerous hands he runs the entire time.

He only KO's guys that have horrible striking.

Rashad is the only guy nameable and that was like 6 years ago. He got killed by Shogun after that, and has been timid every since.

I see you conveniently left out his war with Chris Weidman wherein he gets his ass kicked for 4 rounds and still comes back at the end with a hell-or-high-water flurry.

He might also have the 2nd highest number of KOs in UFC history, but whatevs.

Yes, he is a bit overrated, one trick pony

Like magic, if you dont know the trick, you fall, but if you know the trick, then it is overrated. But for the most fighters, his bag of tricks work. At top level, not anymore

I'm patiently waiting for one of you to answer the question of what highly dangerous striker he has put away?

Weidman?? Lol! You think Weidman is a dangerous striker? Weidman is a great all around fighter with a shit ton of balls, but he isn't a great striker. However he beat Machida any way doing it with striking.

He he is the MOST overrated yet its not as bad as Mousasi and Overeem? How does that make any sense. If this was 09 I'd agree with you. I dont see anybody claiming he is some sort of God anymore though. He is pretty damn good though.

If you seriously think that all Machida does is running then quit watching MMA.

The whole "Machida just runs" is a very 2008 stuff, and all the dumbasses that said that realized how wrong they were.

If you think that he is a bad striker then tell me who is a good striker.

Machida is a beast. The 2nd best 185lber on the planet. Who can't he beat at 185? Prior Light heavy champ. I would not call him or his striking overrated.

He looked "timid" as you say before the Shogun fight. Vs. Thiago Silva and others. Not a lot of great strikers in that list you have...but you think Mousasi is not great? He does a lot of picking his shots, sticking and moving, counter-striking. He's not a volume striker and never has been in his fights.

Well... The man is like karate royalty. He's a representation of what karate embodies... Hit and not get hit yourself. He's a great striker because he rarely takes damage but inflicts plenty. Oh and he'll kytfo in a verity of ways.

    I could on....
