Junior lightweight world titleholder Alberto Machado (20-0, 16 KOs), 27, a southpaw from Puerto Rico, will make his second defense against Yuandale Evans (20-1, 14 KOs), 29, of Cleveland, on Oct. 27 on the HBO-televised undercard of the vacant middleweight world title bout between Sergiy Derevyanchenko (12-0, 10 KOs) and Daniel Jacobs (34-2, 29 KOs) at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York, Golden Boy Promotions president Eric Gomez, Machado’s promoter, told ESPN on Monday night. Gomez said he closed a deal with Evans promoter Lou DiBella, who also promotes Derevyanchenko, on Friday. “It’s a good fight and Machado is excited to fight in the Mecca of boxing, Madison Square Garden,” Gomez said.
