Check out this video. As a fan of Machida I'd like him to retire or not fight these upper level monsters...thoughts?

2015 hasn't been kind to him thus far, but I'm not sold that he has nothing left.

I don't like him at MW. He should move back up.

He needs to back away sooner rather than later.

I mean he's only lost to top 5 guys at MW. Until he starts getting wrecked by the fringe top 10 guys, why not see if he has more left in the tank.

I hope he doesn't stay too long though. Unfortunately I think he will.

Machida doesn't need to retire but he definitely needs a break take some time to heal up. I think he might've taken back to back concussions 2 months apart - Rockhold and Romero. That takes time to recover.

I remember back when he was champion he said he wanted to retire by 34-35.. How the plans have changed. He should probably go back up to 205, I think his chances of capturing gold again are better at LHW.

I'm diehard Machida fan but I don't think he has 3-4 more years of fighting left.

Dont know when and how, but i see him and shogun meeting for a third time and at 185 lbs... For his next fight, i say bisping if bisping beats whitaker.

Dang man... Top 4 at 205 wrecks Machida... Just imagine him versus Johnson? Would be bad for Chidas health. his place nowaays is at 185 lbs.

I don't want to see him hang around too long but like others have said, he's only losing to top comp.

maybe a move back to 205 is in order...guys aren't as fast there and he may have lost a step. he is 37, after all.

a break could be good for him...heal up and maybe come back with a new trick or two.

Meh he probably prefers fighting Weidman to Jones who would be back by the time Machida established momentum at 205.

I don't see him going the way of Arlovski or Mir, more like Liddell, Wand and Shogun. His puzzle has been solved. I say that with a token of sadness. I was a strong supporter/believer of the original Machida Era.

I'm sure he has some more wins left in him, but likely not at the very top. And I think with 3-4 more yrs you'll see him start seeing him lose to some fighters you wouldn't expect him too at all. His game is starting to slow some even at this point. I hope he doesn't try and hang on that long in the end.

Machida fan for life. It's true he hasn't looked good lately, & perhaps it's time to retire. But MMA is full of stories of guys whose best days were supposedly behind them, only to comeback in a big way. Lawler, Arlovski, Hunt, Belfort, etc have all had some bad stretches in their career only to rebound later. I believe in miracles

romero and rockhold are fantastic fighters. I'd still take Machida over the bottom 5 minus maybe a Mousasi rematch.

It pains me to agree, but I do. He is my favorite fighter so I don't want to say the writing is on the wall for him, but I also don't want to see him take anymore brain damage.
