    He got wore out.

The eyepoke broke his momentum in the 3rd then he ate a mean bodykick as soon as they started again ater he never got going again.

Agree. I honestly think he just never realised how big Jones was...he's a physical fighter and with those long arms he can get a solid grip in the fight and DC with his smaller arms could never tie his hands together around Jones.

This is probably the best post that'll happen in this thread before bias sets in.

Rockhold doesn't come off well here. He sounds like any ignorant casual fan.

Almost all of Jones' opponents have that. The same goes with Anderson Silva's opponents. They don't know what to do and end up looking like a deer in the headlights.

I disagree. He was just outclassed by a much bigger fighter.

He gave it his all in the first 2 rounds. It just isn't enough.

DC might be one of the top fighters on the planet. He was in there with the best last night though and that's a problem. Many great fighters flash them high beams on other fighters.

Third time I will say this and I truely believe it.
    Dc wasnt chaining togther tds.
He said after the fight he felt jon was bigger than he expected. You could see dc hesitate and take a moment to think before he went for his tds. Luke is spot on.

You could maybe argue that for the first few minutes of the first round. DC looked a little out of sorts, but I think it was just adjusting to Jones. After that, Cormier put in two and a half very strong rounds and hurt the champ a few times. Cormier absorbed a lot of body shots and got worn down, but he was still able to keep things interesting and even pick up and throw/slam Jones in the final round, so... I don't think he was a deer in the headlights. I think he got outworked in the clinch at times, which probably surprised and frustrated him, but he made up for it with uppercuts and pressure.

I partially agree with the the BJJ fighter.

Cormier came out swinging and gave Jones a hell of a fight at first, but in the last two rounds, he broke and was exhausted. I'm impressed he wasn't finished considering how awful he began to look but I knew it was over at that point.

Jones was just too good, I don't know why he didn't try to get more takedowns, just hard to understand why, but probably because he is just too small for JBJ.

Gus will destroy JBJ next for sure anyway

He looked exhausted from keeping a high pace but even more so from eating so many body shots coming in straight forward.
