I look at this guy right and I think to myself, he has the tools to beat any fighter on any given night, there's not a middle weight alive besides Israel Adesanya right now that I don't believe Luke Rockhold couldn't beat. It's a shame he had to take the fight with Romero on such short notice, a fight Romero had an obvious weight/hydration advantage for(missed weight by 3 pounds). I think with full preparation for Yoell and Yoell actually made weight, Rockhold would have finished Romero in a similar fashion that he finished Weidman. Luke Rockhold is a true student of the game world class fighter and top notch well rounded and the true epitome of a high level mixed martial artist.
If he moves up I do think he can defeat gustafsson. This is the first time Gustafson won't have a length/size speed advantage against a guy who's not named Jon Jones and I think Luke's high level wrestling would allow him to secure takedowns against the much longer Gustafson at will. I think Luke's submission game is superior to Gustafson and he can finish Gustafson via ground and pound.
If Luke moves up he will beat Gus in calling it now.
