After two emails and calling every single OTM store (none of which answered or returned my calls) I'm turning to the forum... anyone know what size Lucky Gi top and bottom I should get being 5'8" 155lbs and having legs longer than average relative to my height?

Thanks.

Just called San Jose and they say to get an A2 for it to be more comfy and if you like a slim tight fit grab an A1 but, length of pants may be a prob. not sure unless you try on. For everyones information Lucky gi's are no longer being made because of contract issues with manufacture. So sizes are very limited. Too bad I didn't get one when I had the chance. Hopefully I can get one from the new manufacture.

Not sure unless you try it on? Psh... that's what a size chart is for! :)

Thanks for calling... I called each store three times and didn't get through once.

The try on part was only for the pants. He said you will prob fit an A1 but, the pants may not be long enough for your taste. It will be a tight fit though. Now the A2 will fit you for sure no problem. If you gave him your height and weight that is the size he would say you should get.

Ahh... well... A2 here we go! Worst comes to worst I can always sell it for $500 when it becomes a super rare collectors item. :icon_chee

Upon the recommendation of the people at OTM I ordered an A2 jacket and A3 pants..

A2 jacket = WAY TOO BIG
A3 pants = WAY TOO BIG

Feh... I'll post pictures in a bit...

Note where the sleeves of the Lucky jacket fall (mid palm) and were the cuff of the pants falls (almost at the floor).

if you ask me the koral pants look fine to me
they don't shrink

is it shrink to fit?

It'll probably shrink a bit... but it's more than a bit big. Besides, if I wash it, I don't think I can return it.

I have zero mobility in them. I have a large ass and the crotch area is super super tight, I rolled a little bit with my girlfriend and just couldn't move how I needed to.

that Lucky Gi...looks comfy.......

It's certainly cool... I think I'd be better off with an A1 jacket and A2 pants, but that size is only available in black and I don't really want to own a black gi.

Right now I'm thinking MKimonos...

Bro the pants fit good. You sound really hard to please. Common sense should've told you to go with an A1 in the Lucky Gi. The koral pants A1 fit perfectly on me and I have much thicker legs.

Which pants are you saying fit good? The Koral ones are incredibly tight, if you saw me walking around in them you could tell they weren't a good fit. And the Lucky ones... well, I'm swimming in them. I think the picture is a little deceptive as I have thick thighs and a big ass... my ankles are pretty skinny though.

And there's no such thing as "common sense" in terms of gi sizing. Every company has a slightly different chart, some are radically different, like Koral, HCK also uses an entirely different system. Lucky Gi doesn't even have a size chart, which is why I emailed them (and somebody else on the board actually called them and got the exact same answer). If they say "A2 jacket, A3 pants" who am I to argue with that? Shouldn't they know the sizing of their own product?

Yea those koral pants do look kindof short, I can imagine if your sitting in them theyll be like only 2 or 3 inches below the knee right? how does the lucky gi feel like, is it worth the money in your opinion?

Yeah, I can't squat in them at all... I feel like the seams are going to burst.

The Lucky Gi feels and looks great. The weave is really nice and seems well put together, no errant threads or anything. The collar is thick and stiff. All the details are cool too, the waist has a bunch of embroidered symbols, a 13, a black cat, a shamrock, and the left sleeve has an Ace of clubs. By the base of the collar on the back it says "get off my back" or something like that. Good details for sure.

Yo Amph, why don't you ask them to switch the pants? I currently have pants by Koral that are too tight and I hope they don't become assholes and tell me I can't switch them.

The color and the cut was great, the super tight pants aren't the only reason I sent it back, I didn't like how soft it was either (I've heard the army "green" one is softer than the others). jiujitsuprogear.com hasn't responded to any of my three emails in the last two weeks.

Did you ever think of calling them? They always answer the phone.
